All-Star Nca Day 3 Updates (sunday)

I know I may get some flaming for this, but I'm really getting the impression that CEA and their fans feel that any time they hit they are *entitled* to a win? Almost like they feel the only way a competitor should be able to beat them is if they have a major mistake(s) and the other team is perfect. I just don't get this vibe as much from the other big programs.

I can name plenty of situations where a gym & their fans have had something to say after something doesn't go their way.
Like Cali Elite 2011 or SE diamonds 2012, F5 2012 & 13 & Cheetahs yesterday. It's a sport wide thing, not just a CEA gym wide thing.

Not picking on NCA or even Cheersport, but I would love to see a boycott of any specific competition "Stick It" style just to show Varsity that the gyms and athletes still call the shots. They are just getting too big.

Didn't TG (and maybe WCSS) boycott Cheersport one year by not attending? Like in 2005 or something. That was a thing, right? I didn't just dream it?

What were they boycotting over?

It was many years ago, but back when WSF had their AC comp as a Nat'l, several NJ gyms were very unhappy with quite a few things. They banded together and boycotted the competition.

I just went and checked the video again, and yeah, you're right - that far right stunt (Angel's group) was struggling even though it didn't go down like the center stunt. Angel was working hard in her group to keep it in the air and yeah, she could have just been exhausted cause of that and that's why she fell on her tumbling pass.

I'm guessing in general Angel is doing a lot more in the SMOED routine than she did last year in her Stingrays routine - when it's a small team, everyone has to do more , right? There isn't as much opportunity to give someone a break cause everyone is needed all the time to do what they're best at.

General comment on the smoed routine though - wow they have some tiny fliers compared to Brandon and some others in their division. That new girl that replaced Madi looks like a little mini in the middle of the pyramid.

Very disappointed in the California Allstars program for their lack of sportsmanship this weekend. I can understand some of the athletes' posts--they are kids after all. But when the coaches get involved, that's where I draw the line. I am not just talking about one team in particular, I saw this across multiple divisions. Very sad and shocking from a program that is usually a class act. Get it together guys!

I know of one comment regarding another coaches mean comment, there's more ? I'm surprised to hear that. What did it involve ?

I want to give another shout out to Jose Gonzalez from Top Gun

He was our choreographer for 3 of our teams that won. The only three he choreographed of ours all won.

As well as his amazing j3 that was in the other j3 division that he coaches won as well.

And then of course everyone saw OO5 kill it with their amazing routine.

I know he choreographs others too but he truly is amazing.

Oh and red hot mambas from our gym is back to back NCA champions
And
Diamondbacks went back 2 back 2 back just like their music said they would and well he choreographed all those routines for us as well the last few years!

I'm curious to know how many of the routines he has choreographed that has won NCA.

Eta: I know he also choreographs for a small gym in our area that compete small gym division but I believe they had 3 teams win NCA this weekend as well and I'm thinking he did all of their routines for those 3 or at least some of them. So just between us two alone he has numerous titles

I honestly don't get why everyone is complaining about the tweet from CSP. She is a customer of a company. She doesn't like the value she gets for her money anymore, so she (probably) won't return.
There were no digs, no "the judges are ...", no talking down of other programs.

I hope that all of you never complained on social media about a company that you don't like anymore. The pizza that arrived cold? You took it straight to the customer service and never told your friends about that, right?

Or TG/WE since they had teams in those divisions too. You can't get mad at a company for not getting the results you wanted when your routine isn't hitting the score sheet as well as other teams.

This happened to us one time. We were informed following the competition that we were mistakenly put in first rather than second. There was actually a tie and the other team had a higher perfection score. We found out via Twitter when the coach of the second place team began boasting to athletes on our team that he was the real winner. He went further and was really mean about the whole thing. The EP asked our team to return their medals. That's how things should NOT be handled when this sort of thing occurs. There should be a level of maturity shown by all involved. But especially by those in a position of authority. The EP should have handled a discreet notification and the other coach should have remained silent until the notification had taken place. In the end, tempers flared, feelings were hurt and respect was lost. So, even if the other team won they really lost in the end.

Boo, that really sucks too. There's got to be a better way of handling this situation.

I guess I'm reading that tweet differently than you are. To me it is not "Panthers didn't deserve to win" but rather a "the scoring developed in a way that I don't want to take anymore, so I'll not return".
