I'd be happy to watch Gabby do bars all day. She's so...sleek?

I don't know much about gymnastics, but I agree! She is so pretty to watch!

If I remember correctly (and of course I'm too lazy to go back to watch videos), Nastia's pak salto has always been high, but that's what I've always loved about it. She's one of the VERY few girls who attempt that skill out of a giant. Most girls connect it with something, in turn giving them connection bonus, but less speed going into it, and less likelihood of what happened to Nastia happening to them.
Aly Raisman makes me want to puke on everything except for floor, and even then I get a little bit queesy. I might be harsh here, but she is my least favourite gymnast I think to have ever competed.
Jordyn's solid, obviously.
Gabby's insane, obviously.
Kyla looks.... Idk. Something about her just seemed off in those videos.
Alicia I think looked AMAZING on beam. To me she's one of the best leapers out there, especially when she's on the floor, she just so effortlessly twists out of any leap (except of course the ring leap which she's definitely NOT flexible enough to do).
Mckayla looks alright I guess. The only event she'd be used for is vault, and if I remember correctly, she didn't vault full out in those videos, so I kinda ignored her disgustingly shaky bars and beam routines.

P.s. Let me just say how insanely disappointed I am that Peng Peng is out, however I think she has a huge shot for the all around in 2016 (if she starts throwing more than a yurchenko full....) k back to American gymnastics!

I get a bit worked up with this team selection because only 3 or 4 of them, I feel, are ready for that spotlight. China is going to have a MUCH stronger team than they brought to World Championships, and I don't think any of these girls, with the exception of Jordyn and Aly, and MAYBE Gabby, are ready for that.

And I do believe that China will have an AMAZING team, but i definitely see USA winning almost every event. Maybe not All-Around, not up to date on Team China.

Ugh I know! I was actually excited when the US one would come out but I was so disappointed..

I really see Marta taking a team of 5 all arounders. With only 5 athletes going, and all 3 scores count, Marta needs solid, consistent gymnasts. In Tokyo, the specialists didn't even compete. I think it will be Jordyn, Gabby, Aly, McKayla, and Kyla Ross. Kyla is a first year senior, but she has been on the international stage since 2010 when she competed at the pacific rim as a junior and Marta loves her. Jordyn and Aly are both solid. Jordyn seems to be always clean, but Aly is a bit clunky to say the least. Maybe they can put some grace into her during training camp. McKayla is the best vaulter in the world and her floor can also solid. Gabby just flies, but her nerves can get to her, otherwise she is solid and beautiful to watch. That's my two cents

Yes, in past years only two members were guaranteed spots on the olympic team after trials, the rest would continue to train at the Karolyi ranch were the remaining spots would later be filled. This year only the winner of the all around is guaranteed a spot on the team. However, the remaining four members of the team will be announced the same day at trials.

Take me back to 2008 when we knew the consistency and beauty of the gymnasts and weren't crossing our fingers hoping they pull it out. SIGGGGGGHHHHH
