Maybe my coaches just never emphasized this rule because I never knew you needed a certain score to move levels haha

Yeah, but she still screamed (as I would have!! Holy heck that must have hurt!)..I just think 'must exhibit self control and calmness' is a silly rule. I get that in the case of a fall they don't want you having a breakdown and fling a chalk bucket, or if you get a slight injury they don't want you making a big to-do about it.. but if I'm tearing a ligament or breaking a leg I will probably shout and I will probably be crying. And everyone will just have to deal.
You have to expect someone to scream if they are in real pain. Maybe its more for if you just roll your ankle you shouldn't run around flailing your arms and screaming you're hurt.

I mean, I get that they don't want you to make a scene..I dunno, I just think it's silly to make that a rule in the first place. Gymnastics is just so dramatic sometimes lol.

I agree cheerleading isn't gymnasticas, but some of these rules make sense, especically the uniform ones. Again, look if you want your kids to wear crops, FINE but do it tastefully. Biggest pet peeve for me with ALL cheerleaders, all-star, high school, rec, etc is that they finish competing, unzip skirts, put on uggs, throw on just sports bras and the awful thing is that no one enforces it, so that is why this came into play.

I agree they were random, but the uniform thing was coming, who didn't know that!

Others perception is their reality!
