Fierceboarders, I need your expertise. Who knows of any good power banks (those little things that can recharge your phone) that are relatively cheap but are kicka$$? All the ones I'm looking at are not what I want, either in price or in power. Anyone know of any gems? I know some of you have these things to last you through worlds, NCA, Cheersport, etc.

I'm going to NYC next weekend (to see Matilda The Musical awwwwww yeahhhhhhh so pumped) and my phone can't hold a charge to save the little life it has left. It's poop. It's less than poop actually. But I'm sticking with it until it goes up in flames so whatevs. But I want to take pictures and I need my phone to navigate and look up subway things and all that stuff drains my phone so fast. I had to recharge my phone 3 times July 4th when I was in Boston.

I need one that will recharge my phone 3ish times, is under $35 and I don't have time to get it in the mail so I need one in the stores. This would've been taken care of on Amazon Prime day but the ones I wanted sold out in less than a millisecond so cool so cool :)

If it makes you feel any better, up until about 2 years ago absolutely nothing delivered to my house. Now we can get Domino's and that's it. One of the downsides of living in the middle of nowhere. I loved going back to college and being able to have anything delivered.
/off topic/ Im permanently salty about the fact that jimmy johns doesn't deliver to my house. My neighborhood is off the same road that the store is on. We're like 8 minutes away. [emoji58][emoji58][emoji58]
At least as soon as I move in they'll deliver to me in the dorms... (I hope!)

The annoying thing is that I don't live in the middle of nowhere! Pizza is the only thing we can get delivered, and I think it's just papa johns and dominos.
My coach used to be a delivery guy for dominoes and told me "yeah whenever people in your neighborhood order delivery we hate them. It's so far away". BUT. ITS. NOT?

Huh, weird. I guess I'm not really that far from places, it's just that I live on a mountain with a lot of unmaintained, unpaved, crappy roads that I guess places don't want to drive on.

yeah that one earthquake in 2012 in NJ was only like a 5.9? and i hated it. I felt like I was having a vertigo attack. y'all can keep your earthquakes.

I'm also from a small beach town in NJ. every summer/early fall we're told to evacuate for serious threats at least twice. We usually didn't. Sometimes that bit you in the butt, like floyd or maybe felix i get them confused and had to break through basement windows to get out of the house and sometimes we were the only people in town who retained electricity, like Irene when our house must have been the eye of the storm and anywhere surrounding us where we would have evacuated to was damaged. you wouldn't understand it unless you've lived it. my friends who stay behind to surf are stupid. my friends who stay behind to protect their livelihood are doing what they think is best.

I don't know how you florida people do it though. I probably couldn't handle anything beyond the short hurricane season in the northeast.
Funny story time. My team was doing choreography at World Cup during the earthquake. We were literally sitting on the floor eating and we felt the floor shaking but it was so small our coaches were like "omg drama queens there's factories in the same building complex it's just from that" we all went on Facebook and found out it was an actual earthquake.[emoji23]

Double post. But I don't know if you have a store like Family Dollar near you, but I just got my boyfriend one that could charger your phone fully twice for $12. He used it all the way from NJ to Atlanta and his pack was just dying by the time he got to ATL 30 hours later. You might be able to find a cheap gem in a similar store.

I was napping and woke up and thought everything was moving but since I was still I was convinced it was vertigo until I went online and it said earthquake. no damage so not scary... but i couldn't imagine a more serious one if I was that sensitive to that little one.

It was really weird because back home my mom's job building was literally swaying and you could feel it and see it if you were on the 5th floor. my grandparents and friends who lived a few blocks away felt barely anything. And then we were all the way in Freehold and felt the little shaking.

I felt that earthquake in SC. I worked in a crap library and the shelves started swaying in the old as dirt library. I said to the students "did y'all feel that" and they looked stupidly back at me so I said "okay then by, I'm leaving. Feel free to follow me"

My boss was like "you didn't get them out" and I was like "you didn't get them out?"

Insignia makes good ones for $30 and you can get them at Best Buy. If you have a droid, I would recommend buying a new battery too. I was having issues with my phone battery dying in an hour and I swapped it out and used my husband's old phone's battery and it is perfectly fine now.

Unfortunately I have an iPhone. It will most likely be my last iPhone unless their new one is completely different, which I doubt. I will def check out best buy tomorrow though!

my dog's "middle" name is Séamus. lol i'm not that crazy the fee i paid for him already included registration so when I went to register him his name was already taken... so he became Sullivan Séamus. I figured my (imaginary/future) husband would never let me name a kid that so I gave it to the pup. that one is kind of common though.
My dogs middle name is Lucifer [emoji23]

That earthquake was freaky, I was standing in my kitchen and was like why is my house shaking? I was afraid there was gas explosion somewhere. I agree about the storms, we have a beach house in Stone Harbor and during Sandy and Irene we would have actually been better off there than at our main house. We were without power for days here, but our beach house never even lost power! Crazy.

We put out fall scents today at work.. I'm torn between wanting summer to last forever and being so ready for football, pumpkin pie/pumpkin spice anything, and cooler temperatures.

Emphasis on cooler temps because my car doesn't have ac and I'm ready to not feel like dying in my car.

Anyone have good tips for saving money ?? I've been horrible with saving after paying all my bills (car, insurance, phone, cards, gas) :( I'm sick of seeing little to no and or -$ in my account. I always try but then something happens and I end up back in a hole. I know this isn't good and I want to work on building up my finances & credit!

I'll be finishing school this year and will have to start paying off my loans and pay for living expenses as well, So I really need to get my act together!

Any & all helps/tips would be greatly appreciated!
Use a separate savings account. If you have direct deposit you can split it between 2 different accounts. That way a certain amount of your money automatically gets put into savings without you having to remember to transfer it. If you would be too tempted to dip into the savings account then keep that account at a different bank and don't get a debit card.
