Regardless if its hs college, nfl, nhl, whatever if majority of a team isnt taking their L and is bashing the winner... thats not okay and affects the team as a whole. And by your statements your okay with cheer being recognized as snobbish girls with terrible attitudes. If you want to condone that behavior and say oh well its sports, go ahead just know your in the minority and your STILL sad and crazy
Still sad and crazy.... I'm going to remember this.:)
YOU let it speak for the team. YOU let it affect the gym. I guess it's too hard to say "this athlete" or "that athlete". Don't let one (or a few) speak for an entire team or gym, that's categorizing and stereotyping. people from EVERY gym talks smack, literally. Cheerleaders are ruthless. Regardless of if it's online or not, it happens. So like I said, get over it. People from CA, Cali, CEA, Cheerforce, SOT, and even smaller gyms, THEY ALL BASH EACH OTHER. It's going to happen regardless of how people feel. I'm not saying we have to accept it, but to cry about it is just becoming annoying. It's a sport, people will get talked about regardless of if their tumbling is godly or if they're someone who doesnt even tumble. I'm pretty sure you and everyone else on this board has talked (badly) about an athlete's skill, I've literally seen it on the boards before, names might not have been mentioned but ohhh hoooo is has happened.

P.S. Don't ridicule someone you don't know because of an opinion, it can come back & bite you somewhere you don't want to be bitten :)

I never said the coaches being involved was okay, they should stay in the adults place. But they're children, they're going to talk their smack.
Kassidy neary is technically a coach. She's not a child and I'm pretty sure that girl is not a teenager anymore either. Please enlighten me why her behavior is ok....
I truly couldn't care if Cali let's their coaching staff run rampant with Twitter, but condoning that behavior as ok is laughable and pretty unprofessional if you ask me.
To add to this if she's considered as a coach of smoed or whatever she is to the gym, she should educate herself on how scoring works before bashing team placements.

Just looked at that dad's social media and uh yeah...

im not being sensitive, it just makes your whole team (in this case the whole gym) look bad. Im mostly more mad at the fact that the girls who are clearly bashing a team, that worked so hard for their win, not be held responsible/ have consequences for their action, but also the coach joining in to is pathetic af.. if this is how you want cheer to be seen as snobby girls who dont win be praised for attacking others, then cool your very sad and crazy. If you dont like it u can leave the forum
It was three girls out of 25 (including alternate)s on Aces. Don't be mad at the entire team for three peoples mistake! Stop the hate.
And about difficulty and execution, watch both teams. Aces have more difficulty in stunting for sure. Peach has better execution although Aces are much better this year. You cannot blame a team for a few people's poor choices!!!!

Y'all honestly need to get over this "bad sportsmanship" thing omg. WE ARE A SPORT, people are going to bash athletes, talk smack on other teams and speak their minds, understanding some things shouldn't be said across social media, some people aren't scared to tweet how they feel! IT'S A SPORT. Trash talking will be there! Stop being so sensitive. It's no different than the NBA, NFL, or anything else, I'm pretty sure y'all all talk smack on other teams in other sports, so cheer is literally NO different. PLEASE! it'a becoming annoying now.

Except the athletes being rudely talked about are unpaid amateur KIDS in our sport, being bashed by other unpaid amateur kids AND their coaches.

professional sports people get paid a lot of money, and you aren't going to see Manchester United's manager tweeting rubbish about another team OR specific players like the situations that have apparently happened here.
Certainly not without very strict consequences if they do.

It's night and day.

(I'm British; i didn't want to incorrectly reference a NBA or NFL team)

I'm not specifically talking about cali here but i will never understand how people can get mad at another team for beating them. if you are going to get mad at anyone, get mad at the judges. they are the ones that scored the team higher. it is not a teams fault when they beat someone with falls. they didnt make the scores. the judges did. so if you want to be mad when you get beat and felt like you didnt deserve to, get mad at the judges. teams dont really have control on the scores the judges give.

Or mad at yourself for not being cleaner, tighter, better, etc.

I'm sorry THIS is why kids talk smack... because parents condone it and brush it off as being kids and it does absolutely no good for them. NOPE. NO WAY. NO HOW. If my child talks negatively about a team mate, team, or another gym even to me I tell her I understand she may be venting but then I require she come up with positives about that same person have done this for years and because of it she now a team builder on her team lifting up those others bring down and it helps them be better athletes (and many of the other parents on our team function this same way and it makes a difference not just in cheer but LIFE). AND posting any of it on social media or messaging NO WAY not allowed EVER mine know if they don't know how to post appropriately then I will take it all away. Too many parents let their kids get away with this stuff and don't teach their children to respect others and work on kindness and positivity as skills their children should have.

I don't think pay has anything to do w talking trash amongst sports... so I'm assuming it's okay for everyone on the boards to talk smack against their rival football team but I can't talk smack on another cheer team that I'm against? I don't see the difference? Someone explain please, w logic not opinions.

I was just saying this the other day. i feel like for awhile there it was brandon and smoed and then everyone else. now there are alot of teams that are keeping up with them. its nice to see that there are many teams that could win small coed now.

YES! I think we will continue to see this as this sport grows. Competition is getting tough big and large teams are growing talented athletes. It is such a joy to watch so many teams bring it. I think we are starting to see this across the board on lower levels and I imagine that will only continue.

Okay so why should anyone talk smack period.... how does it help them grow? Because in the end this is a sport and your goal as a team and athlete is to be the best YOU can be. So try shifting the focus. Find what other athletes and teams do that is good. Because as athletes is it in your benefit to see your competition not as someone to look down at and trash talk but to see their strengths and focus on them because from knowing their strengths you can see where you yourself need to improve. When you trash talk you shut down your ability to learn and see more and grow it goes to a simpler part of your brain and it closes off the thought processes that actually allow you to take in and learn and grow when you trash talk you loose the ability to see clearly what is there. If you want to be the best athlete you can be if you want your team to be the best they can be... then you see them as opponents and learn their strengths and take it in and grow.. focusing on their faults gives you a false sense of superiority and that is when teams and individuals loose out in their own chance to grow and become better. Coaches who encourage it and do it as well loose out on an important tool. Positivity brings growth and literally changes how you think and grow as an athlete overall. This may sound pollyanish and trite but it does actually change how your brain works there is hard research on it and it is to a high level athlete's advantage to use not only their body but their mind to its fullest potential. So negativity and smack talk does no good.

I don't see them having more difficulty in stunts either.. first stunt sequence 1 group goes straight up. And second stunt the back left group doesn't do the second tick tock either. The difficulty wasn't there and the execution lacked as well. If other teams hit they wouldn't have even been 3rd. They were consistent and hit so maybe they can improve on other areas of the scoresheet and go from there.

Might I add, sometimes snark and arrogance on the part of coaches and other professionals can be written off as cute or sassy (in a positive sense) or 'just being honest' because of who that person is, and athletes (especially those training in the proximity of those professionals) can be even more easily influenced to mimic that behavior for that reason. Like 'because such and such influential person acts this way, it's okay for me to and it is necessary/ideal for me to act this way in order to be viewed as highly as him or her.'
