Id be interested in some responses from World Panel judges or big name competition judges on their take. Until a "boy flying" category is added to the Worlds score sheet - I dont think it would benefit... While I am impressed and can respect the talent of Matt McGraths stunt group - Did you also see who was basing? Three amazing bases! Why stack ONE GROUP just to have a guy up, and have the others doing something.... less

I would never put a male in the air.
Could you imangine a figure skating couple switching places.
Just because a female can throw up a male does not mean it looks good.
I was JUST about to say is. Thank you for reading my mind.
Also, guys are typically stronger than girls. Why would you waste that strength for a guy to fly rather than use him to make a stronger group?

This is not sexism! Look at rhythmic gymnastics...there is no male vs. female, but about 99.9% of participants are female because of the "look". And if you want to increase boys in the sport it won't happen by showing them how much you want to do a "girl's" part.

Sexism: Prejudice or Discrimination based on sex.

You can argue that sexism in certain circumstances is ok/acceptable, but you can't argue that it's *not* sexism because, if I was a girl, this wouldn't be an issue.
Sexism doesn't have a negative or positive connotation in the definition, so you can argue that sexism is in certain circumstances is positive. But this is a perfect example of sexism.

Look, I wasn't trying to start up the age old "male flying" debate, I was just looking for tips on getting into the air again. I didn't want my masculinity attacked or my skills as a flyer brought into question.

Anyone with advice is appreciated. Thank you:)

Oh, sorry if I offended you in any way...that wasn't my intention

I weigh 115, just so weight isnt brought up, its not staying in the air thats the issue, its getting practice in to get back in the groove of things.

Who said anything about giving up worlds? In unlimited coed, which is now obsolete, you can have 36 males on the floor. Premier just didn't fit the age range of a senior division. There are no novelty teams in the Senior Unlimited Coed division at worlds. And by saying it's a "novelty" team means you lack respect for them actually being a competitive team.

I thought worlds wouldnt let you compete with 36 on floor who are all male? Doesnt cali all male hafta add girls before worlds because of that rule?

Well you didn't comment on the lack of masculinity that it puts on the sport but whatever, I'm done. It won't happen at my gym because of that but I wish you the best of luck.

I started a whole thread on that, I suggest you check it out.

Ummm, my elevator full downs are pretty fabulous, but I know it will never be in a routine. haha. You just have to grow a pair, and deal with it. How many girls would love to fly, but aren't given the opportunity? You said you haven't worked on level 5 stunts, so why take the time out of a practice to work on them for you? I think it's a bit selfish.

Yeah and my heel stretch double downs are "pretty fabulous."
Ive got the flexibility and the dismounts, but not the mounts.

I see girls tryout for level 5 teams without being able to hit the tick tocks and full and a half ups all the time. Level 4 teams dont often do mounts like that. Is it selfish for them to want to practice and get the mounts so they can go level 5? No its just how the sport works. Im looking for an opportunity to work as hard as it takes to get the skills required.

You could take an all male team to Worlds. But why would you?

Last year Gym Tyme had a level 5 male basket as well and he was amazing

Oh I looovee Seann Reid :) He's so sweet!!

IMO, male flyers could be okay on point.. But I agree with F!ERCE about looking awkward.

That little boy on Dream or whatever that powder/baby blue who is like 4' tall... I'm sorry, I know he's small and can't really do anything else, but it just looks WEIRDDDDDD.

On the cali all male thread it said that worlds had a limit to how many boys could be in that division
