well if you think about it, level 5 cheerleaders that cross down to lower levels doesnt really mean anything, b/c if they go down to a level 3 team they can only do level 3 techniques. Its not like they are throwing standing fulls or anything. they have to do the same techniques as anyone else, and its not like they are better than anyone on the lower level because they are all doing the same thing, IMO dont get me wrong i use to think the same way until i came to realize that they are doing the same techniques as everyone else on the team. IMO just saying !

I think it's totally different for a Level 5 athlete to throw a BHS than a Level 2. The Level 2 athlete is still just learning and perfecting it. The Level 5 athlete can do it in their sleep, and probably do all the lower level tumbling and stunting PERFECTLY. I think you're Level 5, right? I'd be willing to bet your BHS and back tuck are a LOT more fierce than my daughter's--who is just learning them. So the team with the Level 5 crossover has a definite advantage over the team with all Level 2 athletes. I don't know if I'm explaining it right...am I making sense?

But if they have to have a crossover or 2, I get it. Just don't get all high and mighty when you win when you compete at a level 2-3 levels lower than your skill set. (collective "you", not "you" personally!)

i'm so over...

1.flyers with poor flexiblity
2.teams with no energy becuase one thing went wrong
3.when people dont try to save stunts
4. when teams put all the hardest stuff in the beginning to make it look better and get it out of the way(such as running tumbling or jumps connected with tumbling)...hello get some stamina!

I don't mind poor flexibility. I think any flyer looks good if they are sharp, fierce and aren't bending their knees to pull something they can't. Ya gotta start somewhere.

How did this work out? I would think it would be harder to do partner stunts that late in the routine. It also feels like all the stunts are too grouped together back to back, but I'm interested in seeing it.

I know the routine format gets predictable, but I think its typically done that way because it generally flows well and puts the harder elements at the beginning and gets easier towards the end.

the reason why i did this is not only because i wanted something different but i was going by their strenght because they're such a small team (13 of them) the tumbling is what kills them the most they are very well stunters so it actually plays out towards their advantange. if im allowed to put their video up ill pm you. :)

ALSO: I'm over those fake cheerleaders when they congratulate you..FAKE. THEY'RE ALL FAKE. Okay Susie, I lost to your team..Stop the fakeness and leave me the heck alone.

Yet you're probably one of the same people who would gripe about how "team so and so" has poor sportsmanship.

If I could shimmy these 40 times I would!! The who the hell cares nationals one especially rings true this week!

So you wouldn't be excited if your child was in a "lower level national comp." and won? Would you be saying the same thing or would you be boasting on your fb how your cp's team won nationals?

These kids have to start somewhere and get their feet wet ya know?

I disagree...bc flexibility is almost all about stretching/conditioning. I'm in my 30's and have better flexibility than some of these flyers. If you can't commit to the daily stretching and conditioning I'm sure there's someone else more than willing to...just saying

im tired of listening to people from a gym that hasn't gone to a "big" competition such as Cheersport or NCA telling everyone what they would have scored or who they would have beaten if they were there.........JUST GO ALREADY THEN!!

Well everyone isn't born flexible & I'm darn sure flyers that aren't as flexible are stretching to try to get there. Some people are new at cheerleading/flying. Everyone isn't going to be a perfect, little, flexi flyer when they are beginning to fly. You're acting like flyers that aren't flexible don't try to be. Getting flexible takes time. Just like any other skill in cheerleading.

Yes I agree and I'm all for teams getting recognized and starting somewhere, but in this instance its a little different. Is it called winning a national championship when you're against no one? And then trying to boast about how amazing you are and everyone needs to get on your level only lets not forget the fact that you had almost 20 points of deductions from illegal stuff in your routine or 5 stunts fall and a few tumbling omissions. I think at some competitions if there is no one or maybe only one other team in the division that they should have a minimum score in order to award a national champion.

Awesome. No one knows a teams strengths better than the coach so I think its great you worked the routine to suite your kids strengths!

tick tock to stretch, bump down, full up, scorp, scale, double.

SO ANNOYING. EVERY TEAM DOES THE SAME FREAKING THING!!!

also... routines that go like this:
standing tumbling
partner stunts
jumps
running tumbling
baskets
pyramid
dance

please mix it up some...

I personally love it when routines go in that order!
But this year my routine goes:
standing tumbling
jumps (which tires me out for the rest of the routine -___-)
partner stunts
running tumbling
baskets
another stunt
dance
pyramid

I apologize, I just assumed we were talking about higher level flyers (4 and 5). Of course beginners aren't going to be perfect. It doesn't bother me so much on lower level teams, but level 5 flyers should be experienced enough to pull a bow-n-arrow w/o cheating imo. That's not to say flyers are an entire team...everyone has their strengths and should be highlighted as such.
