You guys who are applying to more than a couple schools are crazy! I only applied to 5 schools, and one was just to make my parents happy. I had to write 4 different essays which stunk! but my english teacher and me did them together so it could have been a lot worse.

Anywho, I applied to Pitt, Central Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, UNC Charlotte, and Duquesne University. The first school I heard back from was Pitt and it was a rejection letter. Go me! That was the one I did for my parents though, so I honestly could have gotten in and had the same emotion. I knew I wasn't going there in my mind. Then I got accepted into FGCU, UNC Charlotte, and Duquesne. I'm still waiting to hear back from Central Florida. I am so confused right now though. At first I knew I wanted to go to UCF, but now everybody's pulling me in completely different directions and I have no idea what to do. I'm really excited to look at UNC Charlotte though, so I think I might end up going there if I like it. I'm so stressed outttttttttttttttttttttttttt!

P.S. What's everyone thinking about majoring in? I'm majoring in nursing and then I want to eventually get a masters in some sort of specialty, like neonatal or anesthesiology.

Wow! Those are great schools that you applied to and congrats on the acceptances! Oh my..I applied to UCF too (originally was my number one) haha and they were the absolute last I heard from..the school is huge plus part of my application somehow was "missing" but it was actually there-most nerve racking thing ever. Long story short, I ended up going to the school I heard back from in like November :) haha But UCF is absolutely gorgeous, but also ginormous! Definitely take a visit to all of your choices and see what the best fit is for you (and only you)! Don't let anyone else pull you any direction, this is your decision!! :) Don't stress. I did because I have so many issues making tough monumental life decisions like that, but it will all work out--trust your gut!!

I am going to be declaring my Major next fall in psychology and I absolutely love it! I plan to go on an get a Masters in Counselor Education! :) Neonatal/anesthesiology is awesome would be a great career field to work in!

Just curious, will your parents pay for college or will you have to take out loans? Or, are you fortunate to get schlorships?

i was able to get a bit of money in scholarships. the highest i got was 15k per year, but that's to a school i'm not attending. the school i'll go to(a private) gave me 13k per year which is renewable if i keep a certain gpa. and then the rest will be paid for by my parents. i am very grateful that i will not have to take out loans and that my parents are able to pay for my education. it's just so darn expensive!

My dad works for the state, so i get free tuition to in state schools. My parents said if we want to go out of state (which i do :/) we have to pay

My parents will pay for the first year or two and then I have to take out loans. It'll stink right after I graduate, but it'll be worth it in the long run!

We do the same. First 2 years are on us, then they pay. I know some kids with alot of debt, they will owe about $100,000.00 when they graduate!! It's crazy, is the college experience worth that much?

i have a couple years until college, but my parents will do the same thing for me they did for my sister, they will help me pay for everything, but they will encourage me to pay as much as i can.

Speaking of colleges, I have a few questions for you southeners. Is UNC Wilmington really close to the beach? Is UNC Charlotte really close to the downtown city? Is Clemson hard to get too?

With a quick Google maps search... Wilmington, NC in general is 17 minutes away from Wrightsville Beach.
Clemson's a pretty selective school. (and my dream school!) Average accepted GPA is a 3.9 I believe. You can read all about admission and stuff on College Board: http://collegesearch.collegeboard.com/search/CollegeDetail.jsp?collegeId=3086&profileId=0

Its about 10-15 mins from downtown. 7 mins from North Lake Mall. 10-15 mins from IKEA and Concord Mills. Its not located very far from the interstate...however traffic gets backed up pretty bad in that area.

When I was in high school Clemson was hard to get in to. Some of the smartest kids got waitlisted and later rejected. I don't know why.

I go to the University of Alabama, which is 10+ hrs away from where I'm from, Columbus, Ohio. That has had no affect on me whatsoever... I'm so happy to be here and I feel so at home. Couldn't imagine going anywhere else. That's how you'll know what school to pick. You'll visit the campus and know that you couldn't imagine going anywhere else. I highly recommend 'bama.

roll tide! i almost went to bama.. decided not to literally a week before i was supposed to move there (i went to bama bound and everything) and my best friend goes there:)

I'm only a junior in hs but I deffinitely have my heart set on becoming a neonatal nurse. I've already taken 4 classes that involve the medical field that my school offers and I'm not really sure where to apply to for colleges, I kinda want to stay in Texas but my mom is moving up to Kansas to be with her fiancee when I graduate hs but I'm going to visit KU and K state and my mom said they have a really good cheerleading program which is a plus! So if any of you have a
reasonably priced college that has a really good nursing and possibly cheer program I'd be really appreciative! :)
