Some great news in Canadian cheer!
Both Wolverine Elite and Cheer Sport Sharks sent a team to Future Cheer Nationals in Bournemouth, England! Wolverine Elite competed in the Coed level 3 division, and Sharks competed in Large all-girl 4. Both teams did absolutely amazing and came in first place! The support from the crowd was incredible. It was so loud! Even louder than at Canadian competitions for the favourite teams! I'd love to be able to do this again, and see some other gyms try stuff like this! It was great!

for 2012
Vancouver all Stars from what i know atm with out changes will have 2 teams. IOAG5 and Co-ed 5
Vally might be going again they have in the past.
Absolute went last yr as lvl6 so they may or may not again if they have a worlds team
West Coast has a lvl 6 team but i dubt they are going to worlds...

Absolute plans on going for a bid for 2012 with their All girl 6

so I have kind of a stupid question... are Canadian teams allowed to compete for worlds bids in the US? or do they have to get their bids in Canada?

That's not a stupid question! I've wondered the same thing. I'm PRETTY sure they have to receive their bids in Canada. I remember reading something about a Canadian team competing at UCA and how it was a bummer that they couldn't get a bid there. I could be wrong though, so please feel free to correct me!

I think i remember seeing that too! that's why i asked.

Canadian teams have to get their bids in Canada. We currently have 4 or 5 competitions that give bids. One in Vancouver (on the West coast) , one in Toronto (2100 miles East of Vancouver), one or two in Montreal (350 miles East or Toronto) and one in Halifax (500 miles East of Montreal). Last season we had close to 40 teams looking for bids. Only one region of Canada is considered an "emerging" market (thus able to get video bids) and honestly, its not "emerging" (just weak).

PCT will be attempting to bring 3 teams to Worlds again this season IO 6, IO Coed 6 and IO Coed 5.

Out west there is 2 actually! :) One at Vally Stars Comp. In idk this yr. it moved...but its in Feb. And then the well known Sea To Sky Comp in Vancouver in April :) and from what I know we can get bids at ATC in bellview (idk how to spell it..lol) W.A, in early feb and Tacoma W.A at Spirit Cheer in late January. The ones in the states I dont know for sure if we can.. but I think we did.. 0.o cant remeber

idk I think it depends..cuz I think one of vancouver teams got a bid at ATC last yr, but I think there was specail permissions due to the lack of oprotunity to get one here in canada
