My daughter is 9 and I have no issue with her wearing a crop top...at any age. I allow her to wear a bikini at the beach and it shows waaaay more than her cheer uni does. I would venture to say judging from the swimsuits for sale at least 75% of youth aged girls wear a 2 piece swimsuit, so why not allow them to wear a crop top?

That's not a good definition of what defines a 'sport.' Seeing as they just took out softball and baseball, and golf hasn't been in the Olympics until this year. And personally, I don't always like to consider figure skating a sport. Difficult and artistic? Yes. Sport-like, no.

And Gymnastics has the same uniform base (a leo) and yet they have an enormous variety of uniforms to choose from. I'd hardly call them boring either..just because they don't have 50 types of cutouts, ruffles, collars/no collars, etc. doesn't mean they aren't gorgeous.

It could even be something like: Your uniform must be this standard top. You can have whatever type of design, whatever type of neckline, and whatever fabric designs you want. All creativity on this base length is yours. It just must be this long and may not have cutouts or extra straps or ruffles or bows or antlers, etc.

Why is it even necessary with all the other issues that seem more important to now have a need to police uniforms and what should be done to them? Why do we care so much who's uniform is too over the top or too conservative? It should like you're requesting the simplicity that is expecting and required for HS school uniforms.

I wish those didn't exist.

I don't need simplicity. I have no problems with bling or sparkle (in fact, my knack for distraction LUVZ DE SHINNEYYYYY. Heck, I'm one of like 100 people who LOVES all the CA subliminated unis)..I don't want to see girls butts. There. I said it. I don't want to be enjoying somebody's dance sequence and have to be concerned that all of a sudden I'm gonna get an eyeful of something I don't wanna see because her shorts are so small they're hot pants or her top is so small that one wrong catch means girl parts are front and center. As she's shakin' what her genetic donors have allotted her DNA to choose from in terms of physical attributes.. If you can rock a pair of hot pants, you go girl. I myself rock them..when I'm out at the club or at home. I don't want to see someone rockin' them as a cheer uni. And if the next words are 'Well then just don't watch that routine,' we are SO far beyond the scope of cheerleading that I don't even know what life is..the fact that something that covers more than just the edge of the bum is considered 'conservative' boggles my mind.

I don't mind athletic shorts. I LOVE SPANDEX and I wish I could never take them off (if my job would let me wear them to work, I would). But we are turning into the Toddlers and Tiaras of the sports world. And that's not what I want for my ATHLETIC passion to be.

Not
Thoughts on the GK Catalog/ things I noticed:
-A&T / Stunt unis = LOVE
- Having the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders next to respectable gyms at the beginning = don't love....
- Allstar uni designs that dont have a million bajillion cutouts = :) The ones that are kept simple are gorgeous. Others are..ehhh...strappy?
- The page for in stock unis for high schools has an "LHS" crop top.....which is illegal for high schools. Just pointing it out for future catalogs that may want to adjust the marketing for that so there is not confusion(all the other uniforms around it are also high school unis so it misrepresents imo though im sure this was not on purpose. Just constructive criticism)
-Some of the allstar practice wear is very cute. Some I wish covered more or there was not see through fabric backs/cutouts and things but that's just my opinion
-Warmups look exactly like gymnastics warm ups
-Overall a nice catalog[/q

It is not illegal for all high schools. Some in California show the stomachs.

looking through the new GK catalog I saw so many beautiful full top uniforms. I'm usually not one to like full tops but those look fabulous!

Thoughts??

Where did you get this from?

From what i was told by someone influential in the industry, this wouldn't be for the next season, it would probably be a couple seasons away. But i guess if people keep uniforms for 3+ years it would be an issue.

Also, if you give people a warning, maybe everyone will stop doing it and there won't need to be a rule.

Here's my feeling on it...yes my cp may wear a two piece bathing suit but she's at the pool or beach with it, not dancing on a stage in front of 100's of people. Would you want your child wearing a Hooters uniform? Because they cover more then some of these mini and youth teams have. I personally would love if all star went in line with the STUNT and A&T unis, more athletic instead of pageant. Believe it or not but I actually think it would increase participation and help the industry as a whole. Many people don't take us seriously because of the image all star has, so let's change the image.
Between the $250 uniform, tanning, makeup, and hair...all you need is a flipper and we are exactly what we make fun of every time we all watch T&T.
