I was about to post something similar...I have heard this story a bunch time from a bunch different people who all went to school with someone named this...asked to show me a year book because thats just hilarious and it always ends with...oh she didn't get her picture taken, or she came in school late in the year...oh yea right...never have I came across this. Urban legend in deed.....I'll believe it when I see it.
The variation of a name with a - to produce a name that sounds like ___dash___ is an urban legend probably used to make fun of African American vernacular aka ebonics.
I also used my handy dandy librarian skills to search quickly thru the Social Security Admin database....no hits.
Ditto for facebook.
So unless I get a student named that...I don't believe it
I have a friend named Tamazin! Similar, just with another aI used to get teased at primary school for being called Tamzin - I always had kids singing the tazmania devil theme tune -.- but looking at these names mine is completely normal
