It would probably be better to just ask what people thought about medium all-girl division...or I heard on twitter blah blah blah without naming how "All the girls on Diamonds felt..." You don't really know "all the girls..." that and it makes them look like bad sports. Just sayin'

these are actual tweets from girls on diamonds. i censored their names but these are 100% real tweets from real girls on diamonds.
Cayce ***@cayce_** Call me a sore loser but this is ridiculous #bullshit

Kelli ****@kellbel****
@ninleven no suns got first but they did worse day 2 which was 75% and moved from 4th to 1st. It was fixed

Kelli ****@kellbel****I hate judges. #fixedcompetition.

Kelsey***@Kelsey*** @stiveyywond**** world cup suns. Ha Jo was in fourth yesterday. We didn't have one mistake. And somehow still stayed third? #politics

thats why i said specifically about diamonds. because i specifically saw the tweets from girls on diamonds. i wouldnt just make them up.

the names are censored. i don't see the issue with is as long as i didnt reveal their real names. correct me if im wrong but ive seen it done on here before, even without the names being censored.

I'm pretty sure in those instances they mentioned the content of the tweets without any posting of any names whatsoever. Also- you forgot to censor who they tagged. I googled the tagged name and found the original posters in under 30 seconds. Maybe I'm just tech-savvy..

my apologies then i did not realize i didnt edit the one tagged user. if domeone wants to go back and edit it they can, its not giving me the option to.

Aren't y'all like an hour from Disney?
You guys won't go if you don't get a Paid Bid?
No we have an at large from nca so we pre declined any other bid but a paid... Worlds still costs us a lot of money even being an hour away... Besides we have been working so hard for a paid

I competed at UCA when I was on brandon, when I was a super-super senior fill in for 2010, & have gone to watch since then... I LOVE UCA.

-- For level 5's you get to be in the "field house" (milkhouse always & forever.. ) before worlds and get used to the arena set up/etc.. && you can get all of your disney excitement out if you aren't from florida..
-- Bigger team names are there and more are joining in every year..
--- For us it falls on the kick off weekend of Spring break, so it kind of adds to the fun..
-- You get the feel of a bigger competition with shorter days then NCA/Cheersport... (I would definitely never give up NCA/Cheersport for UCA.. but this is one nice thing about UCA.. )

The one downfall is the different locations for the teams competing.. It is nice because then the certain venues aren't overpacked and you aren't there 6am-midnight.. but the downfall is you may have a team at ESPN Wide World of Sports in the Josten, Field House, etc... and then other teams that are at the Indiana Jones theater at MGM/Hollywood Studios... For smaller gyms I could see how this could be hard especially if the teams share coaches and you have to be at 2 places at once.. for us its okay because we have the numbers in coaching staff to be at the locations but you won't have your entire gym there to cheer the teams on if they are in different areas... some people don't like that.. but it ends up working pretty well to where you can see most of your teams..

Did anyone else who competed think the floors were weird? I was talking to my team and for the most part, everyone seemed to have an issue tumbling and jumping on them. It almost felt like jumping on broken springs to me, and everyones shoes being wet sunday from the rain just made the issue worse. Maybe I'm just crazy..

For those of us without a paid coming from a longer way out, the fact at larges have to compete to even get to Saturday is a consideration, that's a LOT of money and in our lv 5 division (sm sr coed) there are 14 paids, 4 partials ans 51 at larges. Even if they took 30 into Saturday that. Means only 16 of 51 will make it to "worlds" essentially. In our case that means 750/athlete.....I'm not sure those odds are worth the money. I don't have kids on that team but that would be a really hard decision to make. Do you go with practicality and finance but tell kids who got an at large that they're not going because they might not make it, or take a chance with 51 other teams. This is our First ever lv 5 so our gym is just getting started but there are about half on that team that will graduate and head to college next year and this is their only chance.

Tough tough choices, but I get where Memphis elite and rock solid is coming from.

Competed or coached at this competition for 10 years, now just go as a spectator. This will always be my favorite competition. Love the venue, love the weather, love the overall "fun" feeling of the competition. Lots of great programs come to this one, it is still a "big" nationals without being as big as Cheersport/NCA.

Pros
  1. Scoring always seems to be accurate, competition has great staff and runs on time
  2. Competition venues are all great
  3. Weather is usually great
  4. Being at Disney is fun - I never got sick of it and neither did my teams
  5. The overall feel of practicing at All Stars beforehand is fun - all the teams are there, everyone is excited, just plain fun
  6. Lots of great programs and teams, divisions are all stacked
  7. The jackets have always been my favorite, but that is probably from years of tradition
Cons
  1. This can be a pretty expensive competition. Some people reduce the cost by staying off-site or driving a team bus down instead of flying.
  2. Most of the venues are at Wide World of Sports now, but there will always be Indiana Jones and like the previous poster said, that can provide some issues. Fortunately the transportation to and from the two venues is quick and reliable. The biggest issue here is that it is hard for parents and other teams to see everyone compete.
  3. Sometimes the weather can suck - this competition has a lot of outside time, and when it's raining as it did this weekend it can "dampen" the competition.
