Hahah I seriously spent 30 mins just now figuring how to get everything on my xanga to go private! I had a site counter on there and had not 1 visitor for over a year and I had 7 tonight lol...

Now if I could just remember what site I used to track IPs I would know who is responsible for that. Lol

Oh well!:)
statcounter?

Alright, I'm about to go on a bit of a rant here.
With the tragedies the cheerleading world has encountered this past season, we're constantly seeing "stop bullying" messages and such popping up on Fierceboard, Twitter, Facebook, etc. by people. I am completely behind people supporting such a cause. We've all been teenagers, or are teenagers, and we've experienced it, we'd love it to stop, that makes sense.
I'd like to remind you that, regardless of her actions, Logan Monty is a 14 year old girl. There very well may be something mentally wrong with her causing her to act the way she is, she may have done some VERY creepy things, but keep in mind that while you sit behind your computer or your phone and talk smack about this little girl, post gifs and memes about her, and everything else I've been seeing tonight, you are bullying. You are contributing to the suicide rate of teens in the world. You are not helping anyone with what you're doing. I understand that you'll get a bit of a laugh out of it, but is a laugh worth it when a child sits at home, ashamed of what they've done, and all they see is criticism? Wouldn't it be more worth it to support someone in attempting to right the wrongs they've done?
I don't know Logan, I don't know how she's taking all of this negative attention, but I do know that all of you who "cared" when a cheerleader had taken their lives have apparently stopped caring now that you can get a laugh, a RT, or a 'like' out of it.

this! , i do know her personally... and she has been a very good friend of mine for some time, i know personal stuff that I'm not going to share on here , and i didn't read all these pages but its just wrong to make fun of a person like this on a public site, let alone any time. Ok she texted me yesterday and was upset over it. You never know how a person feels at the other end. Think before you do.

*sidenote...I do not hide my identity and someone on fierce boards who hates me made a fake twitter mocking me so yes...it happens even if you don’t hide.....gotta have some thick skin to run with the fierce boarders ...just sayin...sticks and stones and all that..
Why would someone do that I'm so sorry to hear that! I came across a tweet from an account bearing your fb username at some point this week is that you or the fake?

Ok, I really curious to know how long ago this woahdeedle thing happened.

Without giving out too much personal information, let's just say that I know someone who's job is Network Security. I would say s/he is an expert in this sort of thing. IP addresses CAN match to people who are 1000 miles apart (especially if the time frame is not the same). IP addresses are given out in blocks to your ISP. they don't have an individual unique one for each computer on the ISP's (external) network...there just aren't that many IP addresses to go around...get it? There are more people/devices on networks/the internet than there are unique IP addresses. I think y'all are confusing internal IP addresses (that of an individuals computer) to external (that of an ISP).

The only proof anyone has given me is that the IP addresses are the same. I find that hard to believe considering some of the stuff I have found out by searching it, including this picture taken from a forum showing that it picks up random IP addresses for the same user.

It doesn't pick up random IP addresses. If you post from your phone, your IP address is constantly changing. If you post from a friends house, different IP, if you post on your laptop at the airport, different IP address. If you unplug your modem and replug it in, different IP. Keep in mind too, that everyone in your house behind your router has the same IP, most people in your office have the same IP, a bunch of people in a school library behind the internet connection have the same IP.

Blocking a user by IP is pretty useless because it's extremely easy to get a new IP address, either by resetting your router or going through a proxy (basically someone else sends all their internet traffic through my computer so it looks like it's coming from my IP and not theirs).

It's very unlikely that you would have the same IP for more than a few months at a time. It's entirely possible that I could have the same IP address you had two years ago, but it's VERY unlikely considering how many IP addresses there are. Though SheCheers is right too that there are more internet connections than there are IP addresses.

This is the main reason why this whole things bothers me. Not just that she did it, but why... IMO seems like there's something going on, something that goes above and beyond just wanting to be "popular."
I agree. Is there anyone that can contact her parents that know her? I don't know what kind of home atmosphere she has, but this is not normal teenage behavior, and maybe someone can intervene for her before something tragic happens. She is obviously needing some kind of help.

If she's a very good friend then you need to sit her down and tell her what's up. This is not just a little bit weird. It's flat out dangerous. Beware yourself. It seems several of her victims started as good friends.

Ok, it's time.....

I know this fake account thing is not an exclusively cheer thing. There was that incident with the girl that committed suicide after being duped by someone with a fake account pretending to be some boy. But I think the creating of an entire alter ego that goes on for years is a different thing. Do you think that cheerleading attracts people with those kinds of issues or is it going on all over the place?
