I've always been confused as to why you can't do anything but straight ride baskets with "personality" in level 2, but then you can suddenly full twist in level 3 along with learning all the basic shapes. Seems like an odd progression.

You also learn to single down in level 3. The transition from straight cradles to twisting dismounts is virtually the same as straight ride tosses to twisting/1skill tosses.

i can't believe T&S Genesis will give up that easily! there are still many competitions with bids for international team right?

Most of the team is from OSU large coed and they are required to be in town for basektball games, etc. They have no opportunity to travel for a chance at another bid. Plus I'm getting a lot of them couldn't afford to travel either.

For reference, there are some moves that don't translate from up close, and there are some moves that don't translate from the back. Some dance bits are a bit OOT from up close, I feel like I'm intruding by watching..

As long as you're not literally having a seizure on the floor (at which point the EMTs should be there), flipping the audience off or working some moves that would make Pam Anderson blush, then I say do what you want. I would NEVER tell an actor how to react to scenes, and I would never tell a performer how much they should enjoy themselves. The USASF does that enough on their own..

To me it's completely ridiculous that people criticize people for performing.
If you think it's excessive what Erica, Holden, and Apple do: stand and there and be a complete snoozefest and have not one person compliment you.

1) We get all up in arms because the USASF says we have to essentially calm ourselves down, and then people attack others for NOT doing that very thing. Seriously, a SHIMMY QUOTA? What, are we on rations or something?
2) I'd be the girl they'd be yelling at, if I were performing. Sorry, if I'm going, I'm going all out and HARD.

When I perform... you get the tranniest thing you've ever seen.
And I'm not sorry about it at all.
People know me more for my performing than my skills - and I'm completely okay with that.

See that's my problem. The dance is the performance kill it shimmy it hell rip out a weave and wave it around for all I care but I think that's where the performance should be. When In the air there's a difference between performing and flailing about! Still i believe the shimmy and that other thing have to go!

Not going to make a whole separate thread for this but I just heard that since Twist and Shout Genesis didn't get a bid this weekend they won't be at Worlds. I hate that they won't get to defend their worlds title! =(

Beside the Large All Girl teams, this was THE team I wanted to see at Worlds. Their performance last year was EPIC! I am beyond sad. They have just made a grown a$$ woman cry!!!
