Please chime in with your opinion: do you think the uniforms have gotten worse, or better since the new uniform rules? Has it become mesh and cut outs everywhere; or just sporadic extreme examples mixed in with mostly good choices?
Worse, but I'm not sure you can say the rule is the cause.

It's not like these full top uniforms are necessarily great because people are covered. Full-body mystique would have still happened even if the rule wasn't in effect. And it still would have been a bad idea.

Rebel athletics Instagram has another "cheerlebrity" in a skimpy uniform. It's not nearly as bad as Bianca but I'm still uncomfortable with the uni and personally I could never wear it without a uniform malfunction....

I saw that on Instagram..it actually is the uniform for a Hockey Dance team..who's outfits can sometimes be worse than NFL cheerleaders.

So I finally bothered to read the USASF Appropriate Uniform rules that go into effect 2015-2016.
"No risqué, sexually provocative or lingerie looking or inspired uniform or garments allowed. All uniform pieces should adequately cover an athlete and must be secured to eliminate any possible wardrobe malfunction. Appropriate undergarments must be worn."
So hopefully this means all this club wear, pull on sleeves, and mesh-sided pant business would be eliminated. Though I'm curious to know what they mean by "appropriate undergarments." Do they consider a strapless bra appropriate or do they mean sports bras? Plus there's a minimum 2" inseam for shorts. Which really is still pretty short (Nike Pros are 2.5" for reference) but it's better than some of the super short shorts we've seen.
Maybe gyms are thinking "we should make super crazy uniforms while we still can!"

I support full tops even though they are extremely hot to perform in (and I would prefer a half top, but I don't hate it), but I think the mesh has gotten out of hand. Some gyms know how to use it proportionately, in half top or full tops, and some I think have taken it too far. I also feel the same way about cut outs. There are many uniforms I've seen this season where I wish I could just change one thing, and then I would really like the uniform.

Hollister Brand shorts claim to have a two inch inseam if that helps any.

The Layton unis looked so good in person. I think it's only for level 5 because I'm pretty sure I saw lower levels in the old ones.
I did these uniforms for Layton! I love the rhinestone pocket on back too! Their international Coed 5 team has a nice custom design uniform that I designed and Im obsessed with it! They're debuting them in January I believe!

It's extremely sad that this has to be spelled out and isn't just common sense! These are kids and this is a youth sport.

Okay I have been neglecting this thread and I come back to 20 pages....lol
So to catch up:
I have a VERY VERY hard time with Power's uniforms period. The owner of Power is a "dyed in the cloth" Mormon, that uniform (and some of her other creations) fly directly in the face of their modesty standards. I can understand a crop top because even dancers that are Mormon where costumes but mesh all up the leg to the point that your kids will HAVE to either go commando or wear a thong? GTFO. It's hypocritical to post pictures on IG of you and your kids at Children's program and then dress your athletes like strippers.
I can't even start with GlitzGirl...my cp loves Bianca...the kid is actually really sweet to her fans and interacts with them like they are her actual friends. If her mom trolls the board...you my friend are a HORRIBLE parent and the fact you let a company dress your 12 year old like a WWE Diva (but judging by the pictures of your 8 year old you do it yourself) for what? So they can have a few years of "fame" that will end as soon as they age out? Me thinks this has more to do with your ego and less to do with your child.
And for the gym owners that these kids cheer for....is this how you want your gym portrayed? These kids go out there and their parents sign them up for every sketch photo opportunity and it links back to YOUR gym. I give CA credit for the fact none of their "cheerlebritys" have been photographed this way.
The day that USAG offers A&T at the club level we are out. Everyone complains about the uniform standards well guess what THIS is the reason we have started having them.
ill drink to this....AMEN!

Take away the mesh on the shorts and add an inch of fabric and they are beautiful.
Surprisingly, i like the full top version more than the crop top. I never say this.

GlitzGirl and everyone who puts all this crazy outfits (i won't call them cheer uniform) - do you see what you have done to me?!? ;-)

lol at this entire thread...

No ones gonna be happy till the athletes are trying to do kick double baskets in turtlenecks and dresses.

Yeah the shorts on the second girl are way too short again.

And really? Mesh on the shorts?

In my opinion, the mesh on the shorts is serving. It's chic and it sets them apart. In fact, I wouldn't even go that far because I can barely notice it. I think the mesh on the shorts should have been more defined. SO CUTE though. A little simple for my taste but extremely athletic looking.

The full top is actually the same exact thing as the crop top?.... except the full top is baggy and disgusting in the midriff area.
