OT New New Random Thread...

Ok so favourites so far are Pretty Hurts, Partition and XO.

Pretty Hurts and Flawless are my favorites because they most accurately describe me by title alone (JK...but no really they are my favorites).

The Grown Woman video snatches my soul and brights forth tears to my eyes.

I'm not really here for Partition or any song that I know I can't play tomorrow while driving my 8 yr old niece to her first cheer competition....however Flawless (despite the profanity) is going to be her pre comp anthem....I'll inform her of that tonight.

And can I please be Blue Ivy. Please.

Just handed in my final assignment for the year and my tiny college bar is serving pie and free mulled wine. There's even a brass band in here and acoustic guitarists all playing Christmas songs and improvising chart stuff together. So cosy and cute! THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS

Exactly. Lucky toddler. Now I get to spend the rest of my word day reading about peoples reactions to this event, and Buzzfeed literally has me rolling right now.

Where do you go? I'm at Lancaster, we have 9 colleges and each one has it's own bar on campus. Mine is so small and cosy and it's especially adorable at Christmas time!

That sounds so nice! I'm at UCL so miss out on having a campus... London is really fun at Christmas though are you doing any of the uni comps this year?

I'm curious how, aside from the inappropriate nature of most of the songs, you feel about the album/videos as a whole. For me, it's kinda showing she REALLY doesn't care about charting anymore (though rumour has it this is part 1, the part 2 could be chart friendly, Beyonce-esque songs). I know you're a bit more picky when it comes to Bey so I'm curious how you felt!

For me, it's kinda showing she REALLY doesn't care about charting anymore (though rumour has it this is part 1, the part 2 could be chart friendly, Beyonce-esque songs). I know you're a bit more picky when it comes to Bey so I'm curious how you felt!

I haven't really watched most of the videos. I've seen "Heaven", I've seen "Grown Woman".....I think I skimmed thru "Mine"....I tried to watch "Partition" but I turned it off and I watched most of "Blue". I downloaded it at 4:30am and watched on my phone so time wasn't really on my side before work.

"Heaven" gave me a "Halo" feel and the video was sad. I liked it. I watched "Yonce" because all of the models I follow on instagram posted stills from it. I liked it.

I want to go back and watch the video for "Pretty Hurts", after looking at the stills on her website... I liked the song, but didn't watch the video

So I guess I can't really speak about the nature of most of the videos.

I didn't like Mine at first listen. It'll grow on me. I don't like Partition because right off the bat she mentioned ____ Jay Z. I know it happens. I know its there because Blue exists...but No.. I can't no thanks Bey.

Haunted, Blow, XO, Superpower, Rocket, etc If I listened to them this morning I don't remember anything about them.

I have a 2 hour drive after work to my real home so I'll listen then and maybe be able to answer better.

I know this isn't going to be my favorite album in all of life. Its not going to be the best thing I've ever heard clearly, but what I do like and respect about the project is how it was released. Most people could never. I can't think of a single artist alive today that I would have come out the gate and purchased their record, no song heard, at 4am. Nobody out right now can do what Beyonce did.

I'm also ready to go see her in concert....but I also want her to go home, have a seat and rest because shes a human and not a machine and truth be told I know she likes touring but I'm still curious as to why she feels she needs to work like a hebrew slave?

Honestly, I have Flawless on repeat right now and that's enough of a dance party for any human. Love the little speech in it, even though I'm not female.
I think Pretty Hurts or Jealous are her best shots at commercial success, and I think Pretty Hurts is definitely a great song for young girls. The video is flawless. Definitely my favourite from the album (I'd say Haunted was, but the song isn't GREAT so the video is kinda ruined)

I loveeee Flawless. I like the shorts she wears in the video...If I'm remembering correctly. Flawless and Grown Woman are basically the reasons why I haven't listened to anything else.

I love it (the clip from Chimamanda) because I don't necessarily want to get married and have kids. If it happens, whatever, but its not my goal. But I live in a region where people go to college to get their MRS so people literally think the opposite of me

I just want to be respected, rich, successful and skinny.... (Kanye shrug goes here)
