Not at you at all, sorry if it seemed that way.

I've seen one to many "Its because they are senior elite" posts tonight.
NP- just try to remember which social media site you should be "ranting" to next time. ;) Maybe they have in another thread on here, but I haven't read many tonight...so just wait until a few hours from now when everyone is up and I'm sure it'll wind up in here at some point, lol.

What was your opinion on the situation after seeing the video?
Also, do you think ASC approached them right away if they wanted to redo the routine bc of that "malfunction"?

Mostly likely! :p

I think the routine should have been re-done but only the pyramid be re-scored.
Seems to be the general view on here.
As to whether they approached them straight away, I don't know. By the looks of CheerUpdates twitter the whole deal was done within about 30 minutes of Senior Elite's first performance, so maybe?

I know the lights came back up quickly, but I imagine them going out must have been quite scary for the girls on the team (for the flyers obvisouly, but for all those on the ground who take responsability for their safety during stunts also). Besides, during the routine, their eyes get accustomed to very bright lights. To go from that to sudden shade probably feels very very dark, and it takes a few seconds to adjust, so what we perceive as dim lights probably felt like a blackout to them. Just like Maryland Marlins two years ago, I admire the athletes for committing to their skills in this situation.

I just don't understand the entire rescoring thing. I agree that they had to redo the pyramid, and therefore the entire routine to perform their pyramid in "normal" conditions, but the stunt falls that happened before would have still happened if the lights had stayed on... I guess ASC realized that this was a big screw up (luckily no one was hurt, but this lighting issue could have had much worse consequences), and they rushed to "solve the problem" as fast as possible.

or maybe they don't wanna lose CEA as a client for future seasons....

You guys are killing me with the hating. Let's do an experiment to clear up this "night the lights went out in Georgia" debacle. You will need a partner, and a really small family member (your child would be great, for realism). Run in place for 2 solid minutes with a flashlight shining in your eyes, just to get a bit tired. Now, this next part is tricky. You need to turn off the flashlight, then immediately pick up your loved one by a hand and foot and toss them to your partner. Think you could do it? Me neither.

I was 5 feet from the stage when it happened. The STAGE lights were the ones that went out. The stage lights are IN FRONT of the girls, and shine right in their faces. When the lights went out, the set lighting stayed on, all of which are behind them. Ever walked from a bright room into a dark one? Eyes take a few moments to adjust, right? They were in a VERY tricky section of the routine, and suddenly, no one can see. Remember how so many were complaining that "there is too much happening in SE's pyramid"? Imagine doing that without being able to see, not to mention how distracting it was. To say "they didn't miss a beat" is just ridiculous. You could see them trying to get vision back and figure out what the heck happened as the lights came back on (blinding them again). Amber's section never went up from that point. They deserved a redo. Period.

And they were OFFERED the chance to redo the whole thing. They did not demand anything other than fairness. As a gym owner or coach, who the heck wouldn't take the chance to re-run the whole routine? And somehow CSP is vilified for this? What? I would be pissed if my coach DIDN'T take that offer.

A few of you should just change your posts to "I hate all things CEA, and will hate everything they do." They did nothing wrong, and smashed that second routine. The 98 shows us that.

props to them for continuing on to the best of their ability and i agree they deserved a redo BUT, the only part of the routine that should have been rescored was the pyramid, not the whole rest of the routine. I think that is the biggest issue people are having with this whole thing. the lights only went out/ messed up during pyramid so that's they only part that should be rescored.

I don't think a lot of people disagree with re-doing the routine. But what they disagree with is getting re-scored on the WHOLE routine while only the pyramid was affected by the lights-out.

I totally agree that it ha nothing to do with what fell before hand. It had everything to do with what never went up in the pyramid. Completely fair to just re-score the pyramid. But, they were offered the complete do-over, and all I am saying is that they would have been crazy to not take it. That is an "EP" decision, not a "CSP"decision.

Im sorry I know theres a big declaration about how lights affect your eyes above but that "lights out" was a blink of an eye. Literally 2.12 to 2.16.

Call me a hater all you like..

Not about the lighting, but at 2:23-24, is the girl on the far right getting kicked in the face by the other flyer ?

I will call you a hater. 3-4 seconds is a really long "blink". If you had ANY clue of why has to be happening at that point in the pyramid with Amber (the flyer), you might get it. You can't really see it from the front, even. My point is about the fact that THEY did not turn out the lights. I had to look into those lights all day... Trust me (I'm sure you won't), when they go out, you can't see ANYTHING for a few seconds. Then to cut them back on? Right back to the same situation.

I love how having an opinion makes you a hater. But moving on I never said anything about the girls. Major probs for keep going and finished and not having an injury. Ya its 4 secs of what looks like duller lighting maybe I did need to be there. Will I agree with a whole re judging no. Is it EPs fault yes. Should CSP allowed it NO. But its my opinion and if I was a coach who knows what I would have done.
