but then my dilemma, i think i would have to give up vegetarianism to become gluten free. i know i wouldn't have to, but i don't want to limit myself so much. it's hard enough going out to eat or grocery shopping with just one of those limitations. though, i really just eat mostly fruits, veggies, dairy, and eggs with bread and pasta. so it wouldn't be hard to be both, i guess. hmm. just thinking out loud (in text) here. though if anyone has any experience or advice, let me know!
Do baby steps. I'd cut out the eggs first (or maybe start with just eating egg whites) and go with gluten free breads/pasta. It might make grocery shopping a little bit more expensive, but all major bread/pasta brands make a gluten free alternative.

so, i'm considering going gluten free. i don't have celiacs (i was tested) but i have serious gastro issues, which are nothing new. but i have also been getting huge mouth ulcers 4+ times a month like the size of dimes. and i've recently developed a weird rash... no discoloration but i'm prickly, like i have chicken skin or something? which are all symptoms of celiacs. my doctor recommended trying it out, because i could be gluten intolerant, but there's no real diagnostics to prove that without going gluten free. i so wish my insurance covered ALCAT testing. i want it so badly, but i can't afford it.

I agree that you should start slow, it's a big change, and your not going to like everything off the bat. Last year my fiancé and I decided to go Paleo, but I couldn't stay away from my pasta! He has a lot of gastro problems, to the point that it gives him anxiety attacks, while I just did it to clean up my diet. So we decided our cheat foods would be gluten free so they wouldn't upset his stomach so much. I have to say I love eating non processed natural food, but sometimes you just want a price of bread. Lol There are some really great options out there for you when you go fully gluten free, and if you have any questions about brands I would love to help. We have found some great pastas and breads, along with snacks and even ice cream! When we are really strict about it (he work situation is semi complicated as to why he can't be gluten free at work) my finances stomach doesn't give him any problems. He has two broken legs right now, so we are super strict with his diet, and our modified gluten free/paleo diet has worked wonders!

My 4 year old nephew saw me pulling body positions at home and told me he wanted me to take a picture of him doing it too... I couldn't help but think of the _cheermama Instagram thread...

I for sure don't say it like aboot or oot. To me I think we just talk really fast, I had international students living with me and they always complained that I talk too fast.

What? No added "ay" to the end of a sentence either? So disappointed!
We talk fast in NY as well. I think the Aussies talk the fastest though.

Question for all students: Should I rent my Anatomy and Physiology textbook or buy the used one? As I have not been in a college classroom since 1990, I'm not too sure There are a few more options now, than when I was a wee lass. I also read something about international editions? Any and all input would be much appreciated.

I'm not gluten free but my sister in law and my good friend whom I travel with to competitions are.
It only seems difficult for them when we are in random places, like convention centers. Also if its an allergy you have to be sure to ask about thing I never thought about before. Like, is that hamburger, or chicken, dipped in some sort of gluten liquid to cook it before you give it to me without the bun. It really makes you wonder if we are all not some sort of gluten intolerant based on the things I am aware of because of my friend. Then she end up eating alot of French fries.

Buy used. Check amazon or chegg for the book you need to save money. Majority of the time they're cheaper than your schools bookstore. If you're ever not sure on if you want to purchase a book, chegg has the option to purchase at the end of your rental.
Thanks. I was on Chegg today. They don't give alot of information up front though so I hesitated. Also although the school said I needed the 13th edition the isbn's didn't match up even though everything else did. I guess it's not too big a loss if I rent the wrong book at first as long as I can get the right one later at the bookstore.

@NJ Coach @InfinitiElite thanks for the advice! it'll definitely be baby steps.. luckily i don't have celiacs so i can ween it out of my diet instead of just stopping cold turkey. i love the glutino GF pretzels, like better than regular pretzels which makes me happy since i snack on pretzels all the time. i also really like the rice pasta that Annie's homegrown puts in their mac and cheese... if only they sold it alone without the cheese lol i tried a quinoa pasta and hated it, so it'll definitely be some trial and error. and then there's my beloved pizza. ugh. :( though i have made cauliflower crusts occasionally just to be healthier, not GF, and it was pretty tasty, so i'm sure i'll survive.

so today is my first day of school  i know like the whole country is experiencing an ice age, not just here - but how are you supposed to look cute on the first day if it's -40*? like i know how to layer... but then you go inside and i have 3 pairs of pants on. this is hard lol.

Lol story of my life! Everyone tells me to wear leggings under my pants to walk to the train for work etc. Um... OK. But then I have leggings under my pants all day. Not cute, or comfortable. I just freeze on the way to the train for the sake of all day comfort.
