My moms bracket is 6/6.

If there are NO more upsets for the rest of the night she will finish the day perfect.

Fingers crossed.

Warren Buffet better make sure his money is right...

You'd think.

But there are people in the system where I work that owe over $1000

One lady pays a nickle or dime every few weeks..... she owes $950
There is no limit to what a fine can be? In our library system after a certain amount of days/weeks/months they declare the book "lost" and then you are responsible for a replacement fee.

$20 or $25 in overdue fines gets you sent to collections.

However if you never return the books or DVDs you are billed for the books...and that is sent to collections

If you lose 10 dvds and they are $20 each...theres $200
If you lose a couple of books $20-25.....

It all adds up

I'm sitting here thinking...
As great of an actress as Merryl Streep is... I don't think I've ever seen her in any particularly spectacular movies other than August.. Does anyone have any better ones? Cause I really like her, and I LOVE Devil Wears Prada, but nothing is sticking out to me that she's in that is a particularly great movie.

Go old school and check out silk wood. If I remember correct it was good.

Sophie's Choice. The Hours. Death Becomes Her (so kooky but really showcases her comedic flair). These are standout favorites for me. And of course I will forever credit her for the classic line "dingoes ate my baby" :).

I love classics too! I'm still trying to finish Anna Karenina..it's so long! But I really want to read Pride and Prejudice, some Dickens, and a few others along with rereading a bunch of books that I skimmed over in high school. In addition to a long list of books on my phone that I want to read, haha.

Has anybody read Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace or House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski? I've heard Infinite Jest is very good and am reading it now. House of Leaves looks good and I saw it at Barnes and Noble the other day and ended up buying it. Along with Miss Peregrine's home for Peculiar Children. And some more books on Kindle that I can't remember, but I think they were mostly classics/older ones so they were free/cheap. I have a problem, lol.

Uhhhhh Anna Karenina. One of my least favorite classics. That and Catcher in the Rye. I had to force myself through them.

I actually loved Anna Karenina. Parts needed to be forced through but on the whole, I love the story. Least favorite classic was without a doubt Moby richard.

ETA: Fierceboard's autocorrect to Richard. Kills me everytime.

Ah yes Death Becomes Her. I was thinking about it but the name was escaping me. Watched it not long ago, and loved it.

I'm reading Petals on the Wind right now. Yes, the V.C. Andrew's classic follow up to Flowers in the Attic. Which I also have on my kindle but did not reread. I don't think I've read either of these since maybe 8th grade. If I download If There Be Thorns, it may be time to take my kindle away.

The Fault in Our Stars - I did enjoy. Both my teen queens loved it so I figured I'd check out what they were talking about. No regrets on reading it but it was not life changing; maybe if I was 13-16 it would have more of an effect. I will see the movie though and I will cry, I can tell you that now.
Perks of Being a Wallflower - on par with The Catcher in the Rye for me. Dislike both.

Gone Girl - only gets good in second half; it becomes a completely different book. Not a terrible read; I borrowed it on my kindle from the library.

My favorite two series of all time are the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, and The Bronze Horseman series by Paulina Simons (a very recent addition to my "must keep on kindle" list). I am also a big Jane Porter fan (not the romance novel ones but modern chick lit books) and Ellen Hopkins who is both a YA and adult writer.

Ah Flowers in the Attic. Yep, read the whole series. My sister read them first and I wasn't allowed to - so that made them that much more tantalizing for me! But what I was really OBSESSED with was her other book, My Sweet Audrina. I read that book soooooooooo many times. That and the Heaven series. I was a VC Andrews fiend in my youth.

It's so funny you say that about Gone Girl - I felt the opposite. The second half was where I wanted to toss it right in the trash, but I always finish every book I ever start. I loved it in the beginning, and then about 2/3 through I just could not stand it.

Lol I really think I am going to download My Sweet Audrina right now and read it. :D

I feel like we have pretty similar thoughts about reading. I've been trying to reread a lot of books from HS because I feel like I just should. Plus, I think some are actually really good and I just wanna know what they're all about, haha. I just really like to read. Like it's taken me over a year to finish Anna Karenina and I'm still only 80% finished, but I read the Divergent series in a weekend. Idk i'm off topic, haha

But, since I think we have similar styles/tastes do you happen to have any recommendations? I saw one of your later posts about TFIOS and it's actually pretty good! I had zero expectations reading it though.

Sorry for the double post.

Are you looking for recommendations for classics? Or something new?

@CheerBank did you read the Sweet Valley High books too?
