I don't think they were teasing people. The episodes follow SMOED chronologically thru the season.

As for people who feel some SMO's were wrong because they said things on twitter. I feel like the gym, the coaches and the SMO's handled themselves with decorum considering what was on the line. The gym and coaches could have said plenty and watched the masses unleash an avalanche of criticism upon Jenee and her family for leaving. But, the coaches took the high road and let people speculate and criticize both them and the gym rather than hurt Jenee.

The athletes did not. I was shocked quite frankly.

Being angry and confused and a teenager in no way can act as an excuse of what they said and the horrible language they used discussing a former teammate and her sister, ESPECIALLY since they have a high social media stance and even more so that we now know it wasn't Jennes decision.

Be angry all you want, but do not press that "tweet" button.

Something more obviously happened for the team to respond the way they did. There wouldn't have been such an upset if all that happened was Jenea leaving. Please please please let's remember that they are teenagers and that Eddie and Orby don't want this matter discussed any further.

I want to know what's wrong with poor Brooke cause in one of the shots they had of her, her skin look yellow! I like that Kassidy got asked back though

This is something I work every day on with the HS kids at my job. Not exclusive to cheer.

The whole "think before you post" thing is a really important concept that many kids in their age bracket have issues with.

Ex: You might be mad that you didn't make prom court, but you don't need to immediately take to Twitter and use hashtags like #ilosttoagirlwithrabbitteeth #sillyrabbitpromcourtisforprettygirls. (real situation at my school district)

Coaches, yes. But the athletes... they didn't handle themselves well. You can make excuses all day about how hurt they were and how they're young but there's no excuse. I'm their age, and I know not to take that stuff to twitter. I'm at a tiny gym that nobody knows and my coaches would still make me delete my tweets. They're in the public eye, so they should be extra careful, not extra careless...
I realize it's a problem across the cheer world, and it's not just smoed who doesn't know how to handle themselves on social media. But that doesn't make it okay.

Then don't follow people you HAVE NEVER MEET!

So you personally know everyone on your twitter? I highly doubt that. I personally unfollowed almost all the smoed girls after the way they behaved after Jenne decided to leave. Nice way for "friends" to treat you regardless of why she left.

I was treated the same way by athletes I had cheered AND coached with after I left my program due to not being treated, by the owner, that jived with me. I quit with no intentions of going to coach anywhere else since the other local gym had just folded but then CSS bought the gym a month or so later and opened an ottawa location. I got treated like crap by people who were supposed to be my "friends" and then it was even worse when we'd see each other at competition.

I totally get feeling "betrayed" especially if you go to another program but sometimes the reasons for quitting are much more important overall then just staying somewhere and not being happy no matter how great the team your on is.

i sure hope you personally know every single person you follow on twitter. hopefully you don't follow any favorite athletes, actors or actresses, or god forbid the president. since ya know, you don't know them.

also, met*

ehh i agree with @laughAlittle on this one. not that you should never follow someone you don't know... but all everyone does here is b*tch how much they hate cheerlebrities and the whole culture but at the same time they're one of those 50K followers. don't complain about the problem if you're also adding to it. you can follow them if you want, that's sort of the point of twitter, but don't be hypocritical about it.

i also feel that if i do not know someone, i should not take offense to what they are saying (unless it is about me.) i also should not relay that information to other people (aka coming on here saying OMG look at what so and so said about so and so) again, you're being hypocritical (general you, not you you.) you say teens should watch what they say and not post on social media... yet you're sharing it with another social media platform (the boards). you're doing the same friggen thing!

My school gave us a presentation about it, and the basic idea of it was, regardless of how it makes the other person feel, how a situation like that makes you look and what difference will it make.
Think Mean Girls movie - "calling someone else fat wont make you any skinnier, calling someone rabbit toothed wont stop them beating you for Prom Queen".

It actually got through to quite a lot of people, including myself, because whether we like it or not - image is everything.

i didn't say anything about what smoed did or didn't say. i was strictly referring to the fact that they said you shouldn't follow anyone you don't know because thats ridiculous. you even said "not that you should never follow someone you don't know" so you were agreeing. thats ALL i was touching on.

also as a side note- I've never seen anyone say "teens should watch what they say and not post on social media". no one ever said they shouldn't post.. just that they should watch what they post. not just teens, everyone.

Whilst I agree with you about hypocrisy, I think you're a little off base with your "outburst". No one/ @Cheeranswers said anything remotely hypocritcal?

to be honest i didn't really see why i was quoted in that since it didn't have much to do with my post.. I'm assuming my post was more of a stepping stone to their opinion.. i don't know..

For the record, I wasn't complaining about cheerlebrities, so I'm not really sure where that accusation came from. I was talking about the way athletes - ANY athletes, including myself- should behave on twitter.

well thats a bit dramatic. their tweets weren't that bad. just something about "dont say smamily unless you mean it". besides, the parties involved seemed to have gotten over it, and realized the lack of communication that stirred things up. other people should too.

anyways...
this weeks extra is about choreogra;hy:
