But back to the topic, my parents would never have bought me a new car, nor should they have given my driving track record. I do, however, know kids whose parents have bought them a brand new BMW or a Mercedes before they can legally drive it alone. One totaled their car within a year and the other is having no problem keeping the car in excellent condition. I guess it all depends on the kid, their driving skills, and ability to be responsible.

I kind of got a new car? All our cars are paid for, and the car I got is a 2014 Nissan Versa Note. I won't get full ownership for the next two years or so my mom will drive it until then when I'm at school. I was supposed to get a used car, but my parents found safety and some amenities that my mom wanted while she drove it were almost impossible to find. My new car is just as expensive as a fully loaded used car.

My friend got a Benz in the 7th grade, and got to drive it when we were juniors. By then the car was old and she eventually had to get a brand new car. It wasn't a luxury vehicle but still. She's not a spoiled brat either, it just so happened the Benz was a good deal at the time.

Anyone have any good tips for budgeting for the first time? I have the Mint app which I don't use alot, because since I'm a waitress I carry cash around on me, I want to learn to budget my money and I try to put $100 in my savings every week...I eat out alot and I know thats where my money is going and I want to stop! If anyone has any fast yummy meals for one that I can make at home that wouldn't hurt ;)

ugh literally just cleaned out my fridge of leftovers and things that had gone bad. i do NOT know how to grocery shop for just me. i go every other week so i buy a lot, but i'm thinking i should buy less and go every week? idk things are going bad faster than i can eat them. i live alone, so most of the time only cooking for one. i suck at it, so as soon as i make a bigger meal ill split it up into individual sized portions and pack them away for lunch at school (if you have a microwave available at work/school) i could live off of scrambled eggs so if I'm ever in a pinch ill make them. i buy chicken in bulk on sale and immediately trim all the fat/split them into individual sized portions and freeze them. this way, i can just pull out one chicken breast at a time for dinner. i always have mozzarella and tomatoes on hand, so i often find myself making a caprese salad with some balsamic and grilling a piece of chicken to go with it. i always have the ingredients to make a greek salad on hand. it depends what you like. where do you find yourself eating out most often? try making similar foods to those you are buying. i love chipotle, so ill grill chicken and make some guacamole and rice and mix it all together when I'm craving it. is it exactly the same? no. but it takes the craving away.

i think the most important part of cooking for one (if you don't like leftovers or eating the same thing everyday for a week) is proportioning everything out and freezing what you know you won't get to that week. if berries or grapes are on sale, ill buy extra but then freeze the half i know i won't get to.

I live with my dad and step mom still so I can't really cook whatever I want for dinner, but I work nights and usually get home from work around 11 so I won't want to make a huge gormet meal, something that can be microwaved or something....I know its confusing lol but thank you! Your tips have helped me alot!

Wedding planner would be mine too. I used to watch "who's wedding is it anyway" religiously. I'd also love to do something cheer related like own a gym or even just coach. Or work in PR/manage social media for a big company. It might not seem as fun if I was actually doing it though

I had a friend years ago that owned a bridal shop. I always loved watching the brides pick out their dresses.

My team is throwing full squad round off tucks... *kill me now*
My senior year we did (well were supposed to have) team round off tucks and I was so dreading it because I had a mental block on any type of running tucks (and handspring tucks). Eventually that summer I got over it and had my round off tuck by our summer kids clinic, yay!

One of the security supervisors at my work just followed me on Instagram and liked at least 7 of my photos. Like yeah creep away just don't like then all at once it sends weird vibes.

We're trying to go to NYC to see some shows. We are planning to go this winter (ideally over Christmas break, but that may be out if the budget).

First show will be the Lion King for sure - my boss is in it, so we can get tickets and go backstage, etc. She's also idp's artistic director/program director for her dance team (non Irish one obviously) - so Idp is about to expire from excitement at seeing her in the show. (she doesn't teach them anymore, but she comes and does choreography, costuming, etc - the kids loooooooooove her)

My question: we can't choose a 2nd show! We're going to try to see the rockettes too, but we also want to see another musical. We're looking at:
The Book of Mormon
Chicago
Kinky Boots (too inappropriate?)
Motown

Wicked is a possibility, but it comes here all the time, so we could always catch it here.

Anyone seen these shows? Recommendations?

The Book of Mormon is highly inappropriate and amusing as heck. I highly recommend it, especially if you are a South Park fan (being that they created it and all). We haven't seen Kinky Boots but our friends did and loved it.

How old is idp? I want to see Book of Mormon so bad, and I've heard nothing but good things about it! We saw the lion king when we were there and it's amazing, you won't regret it!
