We have acro at our gym. 6 of my best cheerleaders do both. My Sr point flyer is former acro and her flexibilty is tough to match! I couldn't watch this video but I will soon. I love acro!

I was wondering about the gloves too. Are they allowed to wear them throughout, or just for certain rotations (like stunts)?

cheerleaders would get soooo much more respect if they wore these type of unis! Varsity and GK etc. could use their special techniques too to make each one unique also!

I wasn't able to watch the video during the day as I was in work but I thought it was acrobatic gymnastics and was really excited to see it :(
I'm still confused as to how they can call it acro though since that already exists and is a recognised discipline in gymnastics but I like it anyway.
In my head acro is still a gymnastics thing though, well it better be or my coaching hours will be greatly reduced.
This is a promo video from our last acrobatic competition if anyone is confused about what I'm talking about

Me too! I like how the other group calls it Stunt, the acro confuses me from my gymnastics days.

the girl who introduced my to the world of competitive cheer was is on this team I love her so much number 46 go Z!

They can wear them any time they want. And obviously Oregon feels they give them an advantage, I know they are not wearing them for style points. :) I have heard athletes make positive comments about better gripping.

Well Stunt confuses me like we are in a Hollywood movie. It's not Acro as in the discipline referred, it is team "Acro & Tumbling". Cheerleading skills sets performed in competition acrobatics and tumbling were taken from gymnastics. So really it makes perfect sense. Best part is all of the NCATA coaches are from cheerleading, it's great they have best of both worlds!
