Idk if anyone has asked this but how is the gym staffed? Do they interview or is it more about who you know and networking

It is more about who you know and networking. It is very difficult to get a job at CA without someone we know WELL highly recommending you. Resume and past accomplishments aren't necessarily all that important. Personality, teaching style, and maturity are very important.

Will the gym/pro shop be open to the public on the Friday before NCA? If so, which DART station is closest and is the gym location within walking distance from the stop?

It was incredibly difficult for the coaches to get the team huddled up to talk about their performance after dozens of athletes AND ADULTS??? had ignored the barriers and gone into the "team only" area. The team was trying to listen to the "post-game speech" while being pulled and yelled at by people wanting them to pose with them. Others were simply reaching over the athletes and aiming their cameras down into the huddle. It was very frustrating as a coach.

You've got to be kidding me... I can only imagine how hard that would be as a coach to deal with. I would only hope that outside gyms would realize that it is private time and not a free for all.

The gym & pro shop will be open pretty much all day Friday. To have an organized team practice, you need to contact our front desk (972) 275-6781 and talk to Bette to set that up. If you just want to show up and watch and "tour" the place, that is free and you can do that any time that Friday. The gym will be closed Saturday & Sunday.

The Red Line goes from downtown (and the convention center) up into Plano. You would exit the Bush Turnpike station. You would then walk about 1/4 to 1/2 a mile (3-4 blocks) to the northeast. (Go north under the highway, then turn right. After about 100 meters/yards you should see the sign.)

1300 E Plano Parkway, Plano, TX 75074. (We are in the southern section of that building - the one facing the highway.)

I have to admit that I was stunned that anyone would think that it was OK to simply push their way backstage and into the team huddle while a coach was trying to talk to them. The video cameras & iPhones reaching over the top of the athletes to film us talking to them were annoying as well.

Before anyone overreacts, I wouldn't say that we felt in any danger at that point. It wasn't a mob scene, but it was a little ridiculous.

Well again, that is PRIVATE time. Your talks to them are personal and I just think it's disrespectful to get into that. If they aren't on a team or are a coach, they really shouldn't have a need to be in that huddle. As an athlete, I would be highly distracted.

ive been following the sport for years, what i dont understand, is how this has suddenly gotten so out of control this past year. granted some athletes such as maddie have been having such following for awhile, but ive never noticed it to be insane like it is now, especially just over one team. you can correct me if im wrong though. but yeah i think when it gets to that point the only thing you can do as an athlete or coach, is to put your foot down and get a little rude, its about the only way to get through to some people sometime. yes it may upset people, but boundaries are boundaries, and if those fans cant understand after so many warnings, then they should expect to be ignored from now on by certain individual cheerleaders/teams.

This is the first time it's been a boy since social media has been heavily prevalent.

The rate of increased is worrisome. If we were assured it wouldn't get any more pronounced, then we wouldn't be nearly as worried about it. It isn't a huge deal YET, but if it gets worse, it will be.

i can only imagine what Worlds will be like if it does get worse.... went to worlds last year and it was pretty insane with the sheer amount of people who attended. its always been my favorite comp to attend for the past few years, considering i live in orlando. but i might just skip it this year, i can only put up with so much craziness.

a well publicized policy on their twitters, instagrams etc. Stating that "we are following the USASF cover up guidelines, Therefore if we are in Uniform- It is "Team Time" and we need to be 100% focused on our team and the competition at hand. If we have our Cover Up T-Shirt on, I would be more than happy to sign a couple of autographs and take some pictures."

Would you mind sharing your policy on moving kids from team to team?
Do you place kids then have a "cut off" date when you no longer move kids or is their policy in place that dictates when and if a kid would be moved onto or off of a team?

There is no set policy. That is handled on a case by case basis. It is pretty rare that athletes change teams mid-season, however.

What ever happened to the Open Coed Level 6 Team that Cheer Athletics was suppose to have this year? I was really looking forward to them!

Also, will LadyKatz and Fierce Katz be joining Wildcats at worlds this year? I feel like I've only seen Lady Katz like twice, and I havent seen Fierce katz at all.

Thanks in advance! BlueCat
