One school doing it is reason enough to mention. I hardly think my 11 year old knows where she is going to apply for grad school. Same goes for high school kids. I'd hate for them to find out in college that those videos they made senior year are keeping them from their dream school. Sure, right now they're thinking "Pffffffft. A religious school? No way! I can't wait to get outta here and be freeeeeee!" Five years from now they may feel very differently. The whole point is that sometimes kids don't realize that their actions have more far-reaching consequences than they are equipped to realize in their youth.

Furthermore, your reply to the other posts was ridiculous. Way too condescending. Having a master's degree doesn't make you an authority on admissions - or anything else for that matter. It MIGHT (notice capitalization indicating emphasis on might) make you an authority on whatever your master's is in, but that's it - and even that is questionable.

I apologize - I certainly don't have a master's degree; I'm still working on a lowly bachelor's degree. But even I know the difference in effect and affect. (Normally I wouldn't care, but if you're going to come on here and basically call everyone an idiot, then your post had better be PERFECT and ERROR FREE)

So sorry I hit the wrong key on my keyboard. I'll do better for you next time. This could have all been avoided if people replied to what I had actually said and not just spouted off their own emotions without even reading what I had typed. I never said I was an authority on admissions. I merely mentioned the degree because it was relevant to the discussion and said I had contact with professors throughout college. I never claimed to be an expert. Also, you shouldn't start a sentence with the word but. However, I guess EVEN YOU know not to do that.

I swear I can't wait until summer is over and y'all get some real things to discuss.

Look at your tone. Rude. Condescending. Unnecessary.

I'm not sure when going to grad school made you the authority admissions and rejections but take it down a notch.

Just know you're not the only one with a post secondary education, and I'm pretty sure all of the people you're replying to have the same "primary source " knowledge about this subject as well. After all. Web 2.0 deviant behaviors for all principle and practical purpose is still new and Un chartered territory and schools, businesses and reality TV are making the rules up as to what they can or cannot "shun you" for as they go.

That's all. After all. I too have successfully been admitted into Grad School and I too have successfully obtained my masters.....however me having done so doesn't make me anymore elite or superior to the next person.

That being said Go gamecocks! And I'm going to see Beyonce tomorrow. Yay life.
If people would just take the time to read my post like I did yours, this wouldn't even be an issue. I had 5 or 6 quoted responses to my original post, all disagreeing with a statement I NEVER made. That is just ridiculous.

:cow:

Can't believe I've done two in one thread. Sad, sad situation...

Or they could have read slower.
Keep in mind it is not always the readers problem with misunderstandings. Sometimes it is easy to forget your target audience and what seems simple or clear cut to a particular author or speaker may not be to others. Not being argumentative or rude to you, so hope you don't take it that way, but it is a two way street in communication.

For what it is worth, there is no need to be rude in your response to ACEDAD. He was offering a suggestion for future use that may be of benefit to you. If your answers continue to make it sound like you are above us your responses will be discredited some and since you apparently do have some solid knowledge, opinions, and thoughts it would be a shame.

Are you just the same person with a different username? I'm checking my 'condescending poster response meter', and my allocation for the month is starting to tap out with 5 days left to go. I'd like to prepare my quotas for the rest of the summer, and if I need to divide my Sass between the two of you, I'd like to know ahead of time. :D

Also- I don't know about anyone else in this thread, but I much prefer multi-quote. Coming onto a thread and realizing the last 6 posts are from the same person individually responding gives the same feeling as wasting paper in real life. Granted, you can't waste the internet (Or can you!?!?), but all the same.

I wasn't trying to be rude to him. It's just frustrating when I see I have a ton of responses to something I said, and when I look at the replies, everyone is replying to something from my post that I never actually typed.

To be honest, this thread has the uppity conservative Bostonian side of me fiercely fighting with the ever growing Jersey Girl side of me and I think after living here for eleven years, the NJ side is winning ;)

I think that any type of dance comes across with intent. I know the programs that my daughter cheers with and the comps that she performs at and I am sure that this song is going to be played at at least one of their events. And they will dance and my little mini will copy the older kids, just like she has done with all the other dances, and they will laugh and have fun and bond.

I will be in the stands, shaking my head at the absurdity of it all.

 Don't ever divide the Sass!

Can understand the frustration but like I commented, he was offering a suggestion for future use that could be more effective in making your point better understood. To simply say we should read slower sounded rude to me. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

i did watch some twerking bloopers on vine yesterday, pretty hilarious. especially the one where the girl was trying to be cute twerking on one leg and she slipped on the wet concrete and fell right on her face. classic.

 Don't ever divide the Sass!
Oh, don't worry. The Sass is like a hydra. The ferocity level is the same, merely functioning in two separate entities. I'm just lazy/efficient and much prefer to consolidate my efforts :D

For how ridiculous, wrong, and blasphemous you have all made Twerking out to be, you've given it nearly as much attention as a three year old girl doing a back handspring..
Never underestimate the power of protecting children. Either from crazy parents, from their own actions, or the RESULTS of their own actions (such as above mentioned, slipping and falling on your face trying to twerk).
