Did you know anything about the early buying privilege? I didn't.

No. No one from our location seems to have known anything. All this has been discovered over the last few days. Several parents did what you did. :(

I'm in the process of going to the powers that be to verify but I've already ordered another ticket nonetheless. Of those of us just now ordering tickets for our children, I hope nobody wanted Onyx seats. Due to the confusion they will be forced to spend a lot more since there are no Onyx seats available. I don't know how it will be handled if a parent has Onyx seats but their child is unable to obtain Onyx seating. I can definitely see big problems resullting from the website inaccuracy.

That little tidbit was not well publicized was it? ;) In fact nowhere on their website was there any sort of asterisk next to that part about "includes admission" stating the conditions whereupon free admission would not be included. So because I was able to buy tickets early to watch my child compete...my friends with children on other levels lose their kids free tickets? Hmmmm...and nowhere does it state such on their website nor were parents buying early tickets told that.... Just saying...they're hoping for a lot of kool aid drinking because a legal team could have a field day with this ;)

Eta: think stores and their stated pricing. If it's incorrect...they still are required to honor it. And if some deal was made regarding early ticket sales...the details of what that encompassed needed to be clearly stated to purchasers at the time of sale especially if they contradicted what is clearly stated on the ticket buying website. Not sure how many tickets this fiasco impacts...but Aloha needs to honor what the website has in print imho.

Yes! It is so frustrating trying to get any information. I think it was a gym decision!!

And the website still reads, "Competition is also available to all Level 1-5R and International teams on Saturday and Sunday with their registration fee including a reserved seat for Saturday night’s show."

Interesting that they updated it to say 1-5R instead of 1-4, but didn't fix the misleading statement about the tickets.

If your group had early buying privilege then they lost the free ticket option. That is what happened to us! We got to purchase early but had to buy tickets for our athletes as well.
I sure wish they would have made that more clear from the beginning. We did have the option to purchase early, but I was waiting for the whole mess about the tickets being included to be cleared up before I bought anything. By that point, it was too late to get the Onyx seats.

And, it seems like it would make more sense the other way around. If children are given an Onyx ticket, the parents should have a shot at getting tickets to sit with their athlete. If the only way the athletes got an Onyx ticket, is if parents did not have early purchase option, then there are going to be a lot of parents that will have to buy more expensive tickets for seats that are not anywhere near their athlete.

The amount of conflicting information that we've gotten on this event is ridiculous. The "play in" athletes and the basically forgotten about J5 teams (and their parents) all were required to buy tickets if they were to stay to watch. So The play in parents had to purchase tickets to watch even if their children didn't make it to the show. We were also told the J5s were "opening the show" and the parents had to purchase show tickets to watch their athletes regardless of if they were staying for the show or not. The J5s were supposedly being escorted out of the venue once they performed and could only return with a ticket. Now we're being told that the J5 awards will be sometime during the senior teams and the J5 athletes will be returned to their parents after they perform. We don't know if we bought them tickets for no reason or not. So, maybe there will be parent scalpers outside the venue (this wasn't my idea, credit to another mom who wishes to remain anonymous)! you never know.

And now, they are opening up more Onyx tickets at the event....Ugh!! I hope the Gold seats are really better seats.

You are right. The way it's being told makes no sense. It makes a lot of sense for it to be as you stated. Someone said that our gym exercised the early buying option but we knew nothing about it. So, conversely the our kids don't get the free ticket. It just makes no sense. And they don't have anyone at CL we can reach for clarification. I'm so confused. Our team Mom did tell us today that we had to buy our child a ticket.

This reflects poorly on CL. I understand having some issues. But, they've had enough time to clarify the situation. They're going to have to resolve this somehow or else they're going to be filming a bunch of rabid cheer parents foaming at the mouth. On a more positive note movie ticket sales might increase.

I believe we have both invited teams and Wildcard teams from our gyms. So, maybe that's why we have to purchase tickets. The team from our specific gym was an invitee though.

For Wildcard teams, the schedule indicates you compete with the L1-5R at the Sports Arena. To watch that you will need to pay admission. Then the top eight Wildcards go compete Saturday evening at the Galen Center for the filming. And to watch the filming you have to purchase a ticket. Are you saying they made you buy a ticket for Saturday filming even though your team may not be performing? And if you're a J5 parent you have to buy a ticket to watch your team even if you don't plan to remain at the filming ? In addition for J5 to remain at the filming after they perform they too must purchase a ticket ?

You know the problem with the Wildcard teams is, if you don't buy a ticket in advance and your team makes it to filming you may have difficulty getting the ticket you want. They assign seats in the order they are purchased. And they may end up sold out for the ticket level you want to purchase. For example tickets are sold out currently for Onyx level seating (although it has been said they will be releasing additional Onyx level tickets closer to filming time). For teams performing for the filming but not competing, that's a strange situation. You're competing in the two day correct ? If so, in my opinion J5 should not have to buy a ticket because they're a participant in the filming and also a paid registrant for the two day competition.

Also, it's a two day competition for L1-5R. So J5 awards will be on Sunday. The Worlds team's only perform on Saturday. Do you mean J5 has awards at the same time L5R performs on Sunday?

I'm sorry you're having these issues. I hope they reach a satisfactory conclusion for you so that you may come to CL, enjoy the weather, relax and watch some really good cheer.

For the wild card teams, those athletes and parents had to buy tickets if they wished to watch the filming, regardless if they made the top 8 or not. No one was forced to buy any tickets, but as a parent, you had to because you come to watch your child! And if they don't make the top 8, I guess you watch anyway, or you're out the money.

Originally no one knew when/where J5 was competing, but eventually we were told they were opening the show, but not in the movie (basically they're the opening act for the film crew to make adjustments). J5 teams only compete once at the Galen center. Their awards are not on the schedule, we've just been told that they're sometime during the worlds teams performances. So yes, we parents had to buy tickets for the filming (even before we knew when awards were) and if our athletes wanted to stay and watch the filming, they also needed a purchased ticket.

Per our email from our gym..."all paid athletes will receive an Onyx ticket as part of their registration for the event." We were further instructed that when we "pre-purchased" our parent tickets, there was a place to upgrade the athletes Onyx tickets (which I saw when I purchased mine). We received this info on 1/22 and that the "presale" would begin on February 2. We would only have 1 week to purchase these presale tickets and we were given a purchasing code as well. Since there was the athlete "upgrade" available to Gold or Diamond, I can safely assume our athletes have Onyx tickets. Not sure if this is only for the "play in" and "League" teams.
