Get the AACCA safety cert.
Email some local high schools and middle schools. Make sure they don't already have coaches. That's how I got my assistant HS coaching job last year! Good Luck!

If you're passionate and willing to learn, anything is possible. My first year coaching allstars, I had a Mom as my assistant coach. She was great! I taught her everything I know, and we became great friends. You should probably see if your gym would let you shadow a level 1 or 2 coach for a season, or even a half year team. You can learn a lot by just observing an experienced coach!
