I'm double majoring in educational leadership/ teacher preparation. What fields would you recommend for me if you could? Nothing involving math #aintnobodygottimeforthat, and working with mentally disabled (yes I feel horrible, but have had bad previous incidents)Most definitely. Being willing to relocate or work in less than desirable areas within your own region. The point I was trying to make though (and I guess I did not) is that for years it was very easy to change careers and find a teaching job; we were seeing many people work in a field for 5, 10, 20 years and then decide it was no longer for them, so they went back to school, got a teaching degree and voila! got a job. It is not the case anymore in many regions. Personally I think nursing is a much more viable choice for a job and gives you much more flexibility in terms of working part or full time, the hours of day/night you work, etc. but if teaching is the choice of profession, at least chose wisely within that field and see which subjects and grades have more openings so that you can actually get a job after spending all that time in school.
