I really dont understand the hype about the fault in our stars.
This is how I feel about most "trendy" books (with Gone Girl leading the pack... Uuuuuggghhhh I just can't stand that book. And I want to scream every time I see someone ask what they should read and inevitably the first person to comment chimes in with Gone Girl). I haven't read TFIOS because of this - I almost never end up liking super over-hyped books.
Here's my vent/question: why do people ask for book suggestions if they're just going to read Gone Girl, Fault in our stars, book thief, etc? Do you really need a suggestion then, considering you can't get 2 words into a book conversation without them coming up?
E X P A N D your reading. There are some really good books. There are some amazing books. There are popular books. These are not all the same thing. I suppose I should just be happy that people are reading anything, but I just don't get the popularity of some of these books.
