One of my best friends is venue searching for her wedding and told us to mark October 1, 2017 on our calendar. My husband was planning on getting tickets to the Gymnastics Worlds in Montreal from sept 27-oct 9. I kind of jokingly mentioned that I better forget my Christmas present and she laughed at me....I'm pretty upset about not getting to go depending on the schedule for the event and her lack of (even fake) sympathy for cancelling my plans.

If it makes you feel better, my friend from college/old room mate is having her bachelorette party August 12-14 in Atlantic City (why do people insist on destination bachelorette parties??) and Womens AA finals this year are when I'll be traveling for it. Lol I didn't even want to go in the first place because it's going to be with everyone from college I didn't ever want to see again except her and I'm not even in the wedding so like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ETA: Am I going to be miserable all weekend? Probably. I'll hide it. But I'm gonna be miserable about that too.

The traffic in the DMV-area is aging me. I can handle our normal traffic but this summer has been a mess. My MD-VA commute should be 30 minutes tops with traffic and yet it takes me an hour to get to where I need to go.

I used to hate the metro but I so desperately want it back for my sanity.

One of the things that I do not miss about living there. I just laugh whenever people down here say that traffic is bad. They have no idea what bad traffic looks like haha

And when they finish the casino at National Harbor? 495 will go back to being a congested mess.

it took me two hours to go from alexandria to columbia, MD yesterday.

I'm the worst at making decisions. For about a month now I've been on the fence at cheering again. I really do miss it. But I'm going into my senior year (honestly where did time go??) and I actually enjoy having free time and being lazy...
The gym I want to go to is an hour and 15 min away and I don't know if I have that kind of commitment... Agh. My dad already said I can go to whatever gym I want (within like 2 hours) but I just don't know what do.
If I go back I think I'll enjoy it, I have friends on the team I'd be on. But on the other hand I really want to be involved in high school this year.. I'm on yearbook staff which means I'll be at school 24/7 taking pictures and doing interviews and I don't know if I can handle both..

This is all I ever think about....

ETA: I also wouldn't be able to drive myself to my "new" gym.. My car is my mom's old electric car and that car would die on the way there lol. Which would mean my dad would have to drive me, which he's totally okay with, but I feel bad.... Just thinking outloud here.
If youre already questioning if you'll be fully committed- you will not be fully committed. It's your senior year, enjoy highschool, enjoy your last year with your friends. Don't waste it for 3 hour drives for something you 'might' want to do. This is coming from someone who sacrificed a lot of time during highschool for cheerleading. There are definitely things I missed out on and now regret. You can always go back to cheer, you cant get your time in high school with your friends back. You will never get the chance to be involved with highschool committees again, such as yearbook.

You already know all of this though. I think what you're looking for is validation that YES it is okay to 'enjoy having free time and being lazy' and to finish off highschool doing something different. So in that case- YES. It is okay to feel this way and want to do that

hanson grown up. umm isaac hanson yes please.

YESSSSS!!! It's been a few years since I've seen them in concert(not as many as some might think mind you). They have been my favorite band since I was 12, and still are to this day! I just wish more people understood that they did SO MUCH more music than just MMMBop! <3

OMG YES. Hanson! :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

We go every tour, and last year's was amazing. Two nights of awesomeness, and a new album and tour next year!

Basically everyone I went to college with is in nova/dc now so 95% of snaps and tweets during the work week are about traffic and hating the metro. All of these posts reinforce my decision to not move to nova haha

I would tell anyone to live in the DMV still lol! My hometown is currently the top place for millennials to live right now. The traffic only really sucks if your traveling between states at rush hour.

Oddly enough today's commute was fairly normal and I got home in my normal time frame!
