I was very surprised at a few teams that ended up with bids vs some that should have gotten bids.

Also KUDOS to the girl from our Cali Sharks team who competed day 2 with a knock to the face and bleeding everywhere and still finished the routine!

I was very surprised with the at-large bids too because they did not necessarily reflect the day 1 scores of placements 6-15. However senior teams were judged on a different scoresheet than international teams therefore making it easier for international teams to score higher... so I think the judges may have taken that into consideration with their choices.

Either way it sounded like a very tough competition. We're going for our bid this weekend. Crossing our fingers that Saturday will be PAYDAY!

this is true..I forgot that that small senior and international had diff score sheets. Still though I was disappointed with a few teams that got bids and it was sad calis didn't get a bid.

I thought bids are given out by the EP not solely based on the scores...?

When you lay it out like this bids are a lot more surprising than I thought. I knew a few things were interesting this weekend, and there were definitely a few teams that got bids that I wasn't expecting, same with those who did not.
But when you see it like this, I think they need to have a more definitive way of handing out the at-large bids, I don't feel it's fair they pick and choose who gets one. Because when they do that, as everyone can see, teams in the top 15 do not receive one and teams that placed in the lower end of the division do, which I don't think is right.
I feel everyone who wins a division deserves a bid (as long as they actually had competition within their division), and after that I feel as though it should be top scores.
