Invasion is going, because that's their last chance for a bid. and the greencastle gym teams are going. No idea about Chantilly.

That's where they got their bid last year, and I just remember seeing some of the Invasion members posting about RTB on facebook after Canam--I think the whole Mechanicsburg gym was in attendance last year actually. I know Greencastle was not, but the girls were so excited because they got 3 beach comps this year...Canam, Atlantic City at some point, and RTB. That's only two (maybe three?) teams though. And I have no idea about the rest of Mechanicsburg, but I can find out if they'll be there, as well as Chantilly!

CanAm did not have bids going spare. There were teams that left CanAm without a bid at this year's competition. I've heard this argument espoused before; the bids given at the beginning of the season are somehow more valuable than the bids given at the end of the season. The argument doesn't have any merit. A bid is a bid. Teams work hard for the opportunity to compete at Worlds.

agreed 100% people are always complaining that it's too easy to get a bid and they mean nothing.. however there will be teams walking away from RTB without a bid.. which means something. a bid is a bid to these kids.

How many teams going to One Up In Nashville need paid bids. I know they are giving out two paid but wondering how many teams are going for those two paid.

There's at least 4 teams in Med AG alone looking for paid bids.

I respectfully disagree when it comes to the at-large bids. By March so many teams already have paid and at-large bids that teams coming in last place are able to pick up an at-large bid due to the numbers available vs needed. I am in no way saying those teams don't work just as hard, just that it definitely is much easier to get an at large bid as the season progresses.

Perhaps, but several of the teams going for bid at some of these spring competitions have declined previous at-large bids because they added an athlete or went from large co-ed to medium co-ed because they lost athletes. It isn't that they are lesser teams per se.

There are exceptions to every situation, but I'm sure Ratchet Allstars from Nowhereville, USA getting their at large bid in the middle of April were not going all season declining at large bids left and right waiting for a paid, and then settled at the last bid comp for an at large. For the most part, these rinkydink barely level 5 teams are getting their bids at the end of the season because all the teams that should have them do already. I'm sure there are more teams out there who go to Worlds because of the 2nd situation, and not the 1st.

i dont understand why people say too many worlds bids are given out, i think every team deserves the chance to go. i mean anyone can go to worlds but it takes something special to place even top 10 in most devisions

World is supposed to be prestigious, that's the whole point of having to get a bid to go. Plus, the venue isn't big enough for all of these teams and their fans.

That's how all sports and their championships work. Every team works hard, but you need to earn the right. No one deserves the right. Having been to Worlds, and sat through numerous teams that were barely making the level, you appreciate just how important it is to scale back.
