Apparently birth control is on the same level as abortion for them. And they let God do their family planning.....

Which is funny because Jim Bob and Michelle admit to using birth control in the first few years of their marriage.

I want to be clear that im not condoning their actions. They absolutely should have protected their daughters and their crazy religion and complete lack of sex ed probably contributed to his actions
No worries

All the children seem very nice and well spoken. But I've always wondered how intelligent or socially

They blame the loss of J'Caleb on the use of birth control. So this is another mistake from their early years that changed their ways and formed them into who they are today. Another mistake they used to scare their kids away from BC

I believe she had a miscarriage before josh and blamed it on the birth control.

The Duggars Aren’t Hypocrites. Progressives Are. | TheBlaze.com this article came up on Facebook this morning and thought "what would FB have to say about this?" So yeah. Here it is

Devils Advocate Trolls are the worst

If they're so confident in Josh Duggar's changed ways then good for them. Go send their kids to live with him for all I care.

The Mike Brown comparison is ignorant at best. You'll be hard pressed to find anyone that justifies his stealing of ciggarellos.

But compare molestation to stealing cigarellos in terms of deserved punishment. Sure.

And Josh didn't lose his job. He made the choice to resign because molestation doesn't align with their values. It was his choice and recognition of it

As a Christian this article makes me sick! I hope people don't lump all Christians together and think we believe what the Duggar's believe. Your job as parent is to protect your children even if it means you have to protect them from their own family! I really hope that social services gets involved and talk to the children and make sure nothing else is going on, they also need to go to Josh's home and talk to his children, Josh had to do manual labor for his counseling, really!? How is that going to help him!? The Duggar's believe in blaming the victims when they get abused, here is a link and you can read all about the homeschool rules they follow!

I felt the original drew things out a bit to create suspense. This one didn't, everything went super fast. All the elements in the original that they tried to redo felt like they didn't really try to put an effort in to do it justice (the tree, the clowns, the tv, etc.) I think they tried to put more "shock/scare factor" things in it that it took away from the psychological scare factor. It's still probably scary for a little one. Definitely not campy or anything.

But I think if you feel like the original might be too much then this one might be a little too much, too. So maybe not. Has she seen any other recent scary movies? I don't know, it's so hard to judge scary things for someone else since we all react differently to them. What's scary for me won't be scary for someone else. I also loved scary movies at 6 and watched them all. I was a pretty fearless child with scary movies.

Good to consider. It may be something I have to watch and then decide; we screen some movies, first. The scariest movie she's seen recently was World War Z, but she does watch a lot of creepy anime stuff with her dad---it's been his method of getting her to read (aka the subtitles) out loud.

Thanks for all your help! I wasn't a huge fan of the original---I love scary/creepy movies, not necessarily gory movies, but it was never part of my Top 10. But I was about her age when my sister mistakenly rented Candy Man for my sister and younger brother while my parents went away for a night (she was 18 and didn't read the back of the box)...that was scarring so I'm definitely getting more picky about what she can/can't watch because she is starting to truly grasp real from fake, but now questioning how the story was thought up...aka, the movie is fake, but has this actually happened to someone before.

J'Caleb was in between josh and Jana and John David

I know too much :(

Oh Erin, it's only because you're a librarian ;p Though I knew that too---what I have watched of these people is more from the beginning season, with very little from like Josie/Anna on. I tried watching the episode when Josh proposed and it was just so awful I turned it off half way through and I really disliked Anna.

TV Guide just released an article that says the show may go on w/o Josh read here: Report: 19 Kids and Counting Might Continue Without Josh Duggar - Today's News: Our Take | TVGuide.com

If this is true I will go into full TLC boycott mode...they need to disappear into the abyss.

I just knew that Lena Dunham would be the center of their argument. She was a prepubescent adolescent. Josh was not. There is a difference.

She wrote in her book that she was 17 when she did...stuff that's not really okay for me to say outside of the 18+ section..while sharing a bed with her sister. While the things she admitted to doing at 7 was pretty disturbing, it wasn't the only thing.

Personally I can't wait for the day when Grace Dunham snaps and writes a tell-all book.

I'm Catholic, and this is a pretty common belief. I don't personally feel this way, but I know a lot of families that don't believe in the use of birth control and those families have 10+ kids.

My parents fell into this as well; it's why they have kids in 74, 80, 86, and then 88. At 38 they finally opted for my dad to get cut so my mom wouldn't have to go onto anything.

Oh, I don't remember that part of it. I don't like Lena Dunham in any case and she was way out line to even mention that in her book without her sister's consent.
