I'm becoming increasingly annoyed because despite all of the flooding, washed out roads, road and interstate closures, warnings from the governor, mayor and citywide curfew...... The library system I work for has yet to announce a closing for tomorrow.

I mean I already know that I'm personally not showing up....but still

It sounds just terrible in your area, I hope you're in a safe place!

If it weren't for the fact that we don't have water my area is fine

However we are blocked in all directions With washed out roads so I can't leave.

But yeah for a lot of people it's terrible

Did they mention this on national news? We've had 18+ hrs of local reporters standing in flood waters

My mom's house in Forest Acres is fine too. Very strange. She worked all day at the hospital. When she got to her floor this morning there was only her and one other nurse. People trickled in throughout the day, they had several sleep over from the night before and some others who weren't trapped volunteer to come in. She got off at 7 and they offered to pay her to stay the night and work again tomorrow but she decided to brave it. She made it home very easily, and didn't even have to use her wipers. Crazy.

Although, they ARE without water now for 3-4 days (like most of the city). But it could be much, much worse.

The rain hasn't been bad during the day, it was bad over night. The rain has been drizzly at most through out most of the day

At my moms house in FOrest Acres the backyard flooded and a creek that they closed after Hurricane Hugo opened back up, and the drainage ditch flooded. When my mom posted about it on Facebook neighbors came and unclogged it and now her yard is fine. One her her neighbors had a tree uproot and fall on 3 cars.

I'm glad I didn't move back into my old apartment off of Gills Creek Parkway (behind target) because they were some of the boat rescue people (although I prob would have gone to my moms anyway )

We don't have water. The last of it trickled away after 8. I'm livid that the library is asking people to come in. Nobody has water. How? How. Seriously. How.

I would be too. I'm very thankful it was an away game weekend so I stayed in Charlotte. Pretty positive I wouldn't have been able to get back up here.

So I decided not to get cable when I moved and I was like "hey this was the greatest idea, I don't need cable, I don't even miss it," until now. Until I realized I will be missing out on ABC Family's 13 Nights of Halloween and 25 Days of Christmas celebrations :( I think I've made a terrible, terrible mistake.
