Don't do it. It's too much time you'll never get back in your life. Read, take a nap, gamble, drink, do nothing - all better options.
Probably I'll skip it. Maybe if I'm bored I'll go last minute by myself. My husband has seen Wicked and The Book of Morman and liked those but I think he'd rather go gamble ha.

Mamma Mia is on the Allure of the Seas - the sister ship of the Oasis that we're going on and I'd rather see that :(

I'm so conflicted... Can anyone give advice? (read below)
So basically I tried out for school cheer and made it. But I also do allstar obviously, and some of the games conflict with practice dates. Some of the school cheer practice dates conflict too. I'm doing football cheer so it's before competition season but still kinda close to comp season. Some of these practices for allstar I'll be missing are very crucial just so we can get used to the routine and get comfortable with our stunts, baskets, pyramid, etc. I am a flyer and we can't do a lot of things without me- plus I am center so I feel like I have an extra responsibility to be solid and it's going to require extra open gyms to get the stunt good if I have to miss practice. It's also annoying to my group. Overall, I just don't want to miss practice so close to showcase, and comp season. School cheer practices are IMO, excessively long. No, 2 hours is not long, but for school cheer, we will be doing pretty simple stunts and not that complex of cheers, either. Our coach also doesn't really know what she's doing.. She didn't even know what a full up was! I am really considering quitting before football season. I know, that's awful, but I just feel horrible about missing a lot of practice for what isn't really that important. We don't compete, our hardest stunts are *maybe* extensions and barrel rolls. If I quit though, my friends on the team will be really mad, and I'll feel horrible about quitting because they will have to find a fill in for me. I know you should see through w/ your commitments, and I'm not a quitter usually, but I just don't know if school cheer is really worth it.
(Sorry this is practically a novel)..
Thoughts?

If you are sold on doing high school and allstar- Talk to both of your coaches and explain the situation. See if you can balance your schedules so that you aren't only missing that high school stuff. Perhaps you can miss a high school practice for an allstar event, but miss an allstar practice for a high school event.

If you aren't willing to put equal effort into both teams then it isn't worth it to do both. It won't be fair to your teammates if you're only giving 80% or if you are so focused on allstar that your high school team suffers.

If you are going to quit, do it now. They'll find a replacement. There are plenty of cheerleaders in the world. Your friends might be upset that you aren't on the team, but they'll get over it. Friends want each other to be happy, even if that means pursuing a separate interest.

Teen fails to make cheerleader, threatens to sue

i wish parents would teach their kids not to be such sore losers.... we have definitely finally hit the era of the entitled self absorbed brats....

It's probably the parents themselves who are sore losers too. No teen is going to be able to sue without daddy's/mommy's lawyer.

But, yes, I agree. People need to deal with the fact that losing is part of life. And if parents don't show their kids that, the real world will.

i think its both, i read more and more stories about how when kids or teens dont get their way they go to mom and dad and sue whoever, kids sue when they dont make sports team, kids sue when they get kicked off teams, kids sue not getting into a college, and so on i mean its ridiculous.

I wonder if this girl tryout and not make the basketball or any other sport team, would she demand and sue to be placed on the team? Um nope, so, why should cheerleading be treated any differently?

Maybe, this girl wanted to only wear the uniform and expected to only nugget in the routines...

I feel like I'm being punked with this Melania Trump speech... like not only the speech but Trump himself tweeted almost the word for word same tweet afterwards praising his wife. I don't see what the benefit would be but it seems too intentional. They must have PR people to make sure this doesn't happen?

I'm pretty sure the Obama tweet is fake. But LOL at this whole situation.

The candidates and their teams have speech writers... Yes, it's an awkward situation, but I'm not putting too much judgement into it.
