Wow all that sounds strange to me, i am actually really old, i am 27 and only 2 people i know already have babies. None of my friends from school though. I think one of the people i went to school with is married but the rest... we are either very late or things are just different over here

So since I've graduated from hs (almost 2 years now) there are 7 girls from my class that are pregnant and 5 other girls are engaged.... I just wanna graduate college like..

exactly, like I have a boyfriend and whatever but I told him specially don't even think about marrying me until I'm done school and have been working for like 5 years... I just really do not see the rush or desire in getting married before like 25 and that's the youngest I'll go

Yeah I'm only in my first year of college. They're all so young, I don't want any of that for at least 5+ years.

I COULD RANT ABOUT THIS ALL DAY

One of my close friends who turned 18 in August goes to a state school in Jersey, about 45 minutes to an hour where we live. Her and her boyfriend have been dating since our sophomore year in college. This past September they decided to get engaged.... plot twist he's a year younger than us and still in high school. WHY ON EARTH would you get engaged while you're still in high school/just beginning college. I honestly would just really like to know the point of it? There's no way you're getting married any time soon and if you do it's probably going to be in your parents backyard. And honestly, it's impossible for either one of them to be financially stable enough to support one another OR THEMSELVES for at least another 7 or 8 years. I'm honestly just baffled at the amount of kids my age are becoming engaged. WHAT IS THE POINT. YOU STILL LIVE WITH YOUR PARENTS. It actually makes me mad. Like okay, I get it if you're on your own working and making a life for yourself but you're still in high school at our dinky little christian school that doesn't let couples sit next to each other or chew gum on school property..... UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

OMG YES. I think it's worse down in the south where people expect you to get married and have kids young. My little sister is a Sophomore in high school and there's a girl in her grade that's married and pregnant. WHY? They both live with her parents. I can't imagine not even being 16 and being married. My mom didn't have me until she was 32 and had been in her profession for years. I can't even count on 2 hands the number of girls from my high school that have had kids/are engaged/are married. And I can count on 1 hand the amount that haven't broken up or divorced. I'm only 19. That's just crazy to me. I definitely don't mean to generalize that all young couples will end up like this, but why on earth would you do that? Only a few went to college, and most didn't even graduate high school. I think 1 (maybe) has her GED. What are they going to do?

I'm 27 too, and among friends from my age group, one is married with a kid, one a just married, and another has a baby (I'm not that close to her but I don't think she's married with the father yet). I couldn't imagine me or my friends being engaged/married/pregnant right after high school. I'm personally very fond of independence so I couldn't have jumped straight from my parents' house to my own without some time for myself.

Wait, multiple people in your high school are already married?! And don't live together?

When I was in 8th grade a couple got engaged next to the fruitopia (doubt anyone remembers that drink) machine in the cafeteria. We all turned and looked as he got down on one knee. Nobody clapped....bc not many 12/13 yrs olds watch people let alone their peers get engaged and know to clap.....

Anyway. They dated all through high school. Graduated (neither went to college). Finally got married (yaayyyy young love). Popped out some babies including a set of twins....about 3 kids total.

Then they got divorced. Their break up was documented/blasted over Facebook. She got impregnated by his best friend (awkward) and all of this took place by the time we were 24ish

But....I mean they almost beat the odds. Almost.

I'm in college now but at least 2 couples at my old high school are married. I only know 1 for sure that live together (with the girl's parents). And my little brother just found out on Facebook today that a girl in his grade (he's a junior) is pregnant by a guy that's 23.
