Ok so I'm sure this will sound really lame me asking this but I'm from the UK and I'm not used to USA score sheets etc!

My question is, when teams compete and you abbreviate deductions/issues during the routine ie. TD/TB/SB etc, like on twitter and the like...what so these stand for????

I'm going to guess SB is maybe stunt bobble? Or safety breach. I don't know!

Someone help me out with a cute glossary maybe? Then I can swot before 2014 comps :D thank you!
There's one in the wiki. It includes gym abbreviations, skill abbreviations, and routine abbreviations (what you're talking about)

Hey this is a really random question!

Just looking on the California Allstars website and came across this for the Ventura site

I'm confused as to why they have like 4different outfits across the season just to train in...is there a particular reason for so many?? I'd imagine that would cost so much!

Thanks!
Well it says some of the sports bras are reversible so you're getting two for the price of one!

i'm not there, so i can't give you a real reason... but it's really just 2 pair of shorts, 2 sports bras and a tank, which is a pretty standard practice wear set, now a days. like world cup teams each have about 3 different full sets (3 bras/tanks/ and 3 shorts) but they get them in the summer and wear them for 3 consecutive days at camp (so you don't have to go home and wash your outfit to wear again the next day), and then use them all season. Cheer Athletics also has about 3 full sets for their teams required, if i remember correctly. again, expensive, but seems pretty average. and Calis are reversible so at least it saves there.

That's some pretty and functional
practice wear! My guess as to why "so many" is because they have practice many times a week (this looks like every day but Friday?) and if you only had two outfits, washing them every day or every other day would probably wear them out quickly. When everyone wears the same thing to practice it helps pinpoint what needs to be fixed, who's messing up, etc. If you have someone in a hilighter yellow sports bra and that's the brightest thing on the floor, your eye tends to pull to that person and you could miss other stuff going on that may need work. This is in my own experience, I'm not saying that's the real reason why they have four outfits!

I would hate being told what to wear at every practice. What one person finds comfortable, another person may not. And I like to be comfy at practice

I think it's pretty common to have practicewear? It helps with cleaning and is usually just shorts and a tank or sports bra
yes, practice wear. I have it to. But its never mandatory for us to wear it, with the exception of special events such as choreography, special guests, filming, ect.

but to add to that... exactly, most commonly a sports bra. I find cheer sports bras do very little for me, and many are uncomfortable. I also hate training in just a sports bra. So once good for one individual, may not be for another.

Yeah all teams I've been on in the past have never had mandatory training gear, but I wish we had! My newest team has it but we don't have to wear it for practice, only showcases :)

This does mean that I can buy whatever I like to wear at practice hence my increasingly worrying obsession with nike pro sports bras and shorts. It's really annoying as there are so few suppliers in the UK!

In HS we had certain outfits to wear (rotated between three different outfits) which was done so that it was easy to spot mistakes and stuff while running through the routine. In college we just have a to wear a shirt that has something to do with our school on it. We have certain outfits that we put together for camp or other things like that.

I've never not had specified practicewear! I just thought everyone did
We have themed practice one day a week and then our other two practices have different practice sets we have to wear. One is a tank top and shorts, the other is a sports bra and shorts but we can wear our gym tank top over it if we aren't comfortable in a sports bra. At the beginning of the year we got a schedule that told us what practicewear was for each day.
My old gym it was all the same, you got two pairs of shorts and two tops (tanks or sports bras, they coordinated though) and if you weren't wearing your practicewear you'd get extra conditioning or something. We just wore another sports bra under it if we needed to.
For school we have it where each day is a certain outfit too
