Yeah. So. Does anyone think the Duggar Family can survive this?


I'm personally disgusted. I was just warming up to them (barely....in a I can't believe what I'm watching kind of way ) and now they make my skin crawl. Now all their asinine rules make sense. They were protecting their kids from the predator in their home. Sickening.

I have always been neutral when it came to them. I didn't really like them, but I didn't really dislike them either, because I felt they just lived their life and had their own set of morals. Now, I feel like they have used their "religion" as a pass to say and do things that I feel like most Christians that don't follow that type of "religion" agree with. I do feel bad for the children because they don't have any control on how they are being raised (brain-washed). Most of the children seem like good kids that are caught in a world they have no control over - it has to be very confusing to them. I really have no sympathy for the parents. They are the ones to blame for creating the atmosphere they did. As for Josh, I have no sympathy for what he did, but he obviously needed help - and didn't get it, was his strict upbringing to blame for what he did? We are only seeing what they want us to see on TV. Who knows what really went on, I bet there will be more that comes out eventually. One of them will talk.

I looked over the police report online -one of the kids stated they have been spanked with a "rod" -so I imagine there are more things that have happened.

He didn't get help - he was sent to do manual labor with a friend. Per Michelle. That is not exactly help.

ETA - This was posted in a news source - take it for what it is worth. Idk if this is what they are referring to as his counseling.

Asked about the training center that Jim Bob said Josh was sent to, Michelle told police, according to the report, “it was not really a training center. Det. [Darrell] Hignite asked if the guy [redacted, Josh] talked to was a certified counselor. She said no. She said it was a guy they know in Little Rock that is remodeling a building. Det. Hignite asked if the guy was more of a mentor. She said “kind of.”

wow... had no clue what you were talking about till i looked it up. i use to love their show, now not so much. then again im not to surprised something like that or something in general would happen. when you shelter your kids THAT MUCH, they tend to make the dumbest mistakes later in life.

I feel like his upbringing and inability to explore and learn about relationships in a normal way may have contributed to his behavior HOWEVER WRONG IS WRONG. His religious teachings taught him this behavior was wrong and he did it anyway.

The girls were never properly counseled. He got to 4 out of 5 of his sisters who were 12, 10, 9,8 and 4 at the time and probably touched the youngest 4.

His parents KNEW and kept him around and continued to have 4 more little girls. Didn't get them proper help but instead sent them to Journey to the Heart----a fundie camp aimed at keeping girls sweet and pure

josh was sent to ALERT to "straighten him out".

This all baffles me. This family is nuts. So much of their behavior is explained by this. Why the boys aren't allowed in the girls rooms. Why the girls in early episode slept in polos and full denim skirts

It makes me concerned that the younger boys or even girls will exhibit the same behavior as Josh since they still aren't being educated properly

It is in the police report that the victims ( at least 4) resided in the home of Michelle and Jim Bob.

"The LGBT Community is a threat to children's safety" DIRECT FREAKING QUOTE. From Josh Duggar. The child molester. He was a high ranking employee for one of the most politically active groups, actively lobbying against LGBT rights (among other things).

Not to get political but this.....I just.....I have no words.
