Completely understandable! I fear part of the reason is because we live in a generation of entitlement. It's not an honor to make these premiere teams anymore. Everyone "deserves" it......that's what I hear or read more often than not. (And I just mean this in general....the cheer world as a whole not us specifically). Otherwise WHY would psycho moms run IG accts for 4 year olds hashtagging #futurewildcat. Just a different cheer world we live In Now. Where the next suzie cheerlebrity is being pimped to the masses with daily videos of 4 year olds being stunted by 30 year old coaches at their three times a week privates?!?

Now, now, don't anger the Suzie mom's of the world---I know it's summer and all, but you may be asking for another 3 year old BHS thread or a my 2 year old has her full. ;p

Kidding aside, I agree with what you posted.

. We've been the Ladies of Teal for about 8 years now. Not sure how that holds up to how long Lady Bullets have used it. Lmao
They used to say Ladies of California starting back around 06-07 then Lady Bullets came around 09-10. The real team name is or used to be 'Elite' but Lady Bullets has stuck more in the past 3-4 years.

Sorry I'm a big Lady Bullets fan. Lol

Yes, senior elite are the ladies of teal, but so is the medium senior team if you think about it. Cali Aces have used Lady Bullets in their music before, because they are in fact lady bullets also. Lol

SN: Lady Bullets should get a pass on the hate for the 'lady' thing. All of these other teams came after. Haha

I do think using Ladies of Teal and Senior Elite is a way to make things balanced without the 2 teams constantly being looked at as an up and down sort of thing. Imagine if the Medium team was named Princesses of Teal or something to that affect since Senior Elite always wears the crown. That would be a blatant slap in the face to the Medium team and would be a clear example of one being more 'elite' than the other. Both are Senior 5, both are going to World's, both could walk home with rings at World's...at the end of the day, they're both still World's teams; their names shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Not necessary, mstealtoyou, I apologize. I was referencing 336Teal's post stating, "LE is a great team, but sometimes it was unfortunately seen as the 'JV team'" - If someone from inside the gym personally recognizes and knows that the team is sometimes "unfortunately seen" this way, I personally would try to find a solution to change that.

Athletes need to recognize that as the sport continues to grow, the likelihood of always making the "premiere" teams at gyms is going to diminish, and therefore it is best to work towards making all teams feel like they have the "premiere" (term I hate, but don't know how else to describe) adjective associated with their team.

I was only repeating what I remember from that meeting. Like I said before, my CP would have been thrilled to make that team. Sarah AND pink - what's not to love? It was mentioned that athletes used to feel th same about Coed too. Teams evolve and it gets better. As far as overcoming it, I think that's what the goal was. And I think it's been successful. It's about the bond and the cohesiveness.

I also don't feel like this was a problem specific to CEA. At least two others have commented since then and said that a similar exists within their own gym.

This is the first time I've Mom'ed an International team. I'm learning as I go! I asked if getting a bid will be on our radar this season and she said maybe, possibly. I know we normally have no problems replacing crossovers so I don't foresee that being an issue of she chooses to try and taken them to worlds. Nothing is guaranteed. We'd still have to get a bid first.
Okay! I was just wondering. I wasn't sure if there were enough crossovers to where if they got a bid, they would have to hold tryouts and go for another one.

who knows... it is interesting to hear that certain teams let people have almost an "automatic pass" so to speak to stay on a team once they have made it. things have changed so much from when i was in allstars around the "2004-2008 era" i guess i could call it. from what i can remember they never did that sort of thing in the gym i was in, it was a clean slate every tryout, and if someone walked in with better or more skills then you, you were replaced or moved down, didnt matter how many years you were on that team....
not that i would throw shade to any of the athletes apart of CEA, cause they all can certainly hold their own after i watched a season of the JTV thing and so forth. but it does make me wonder, that there are always a few athletes who lose skills, etc. and that an xyz athlete got a spot on a "premier team" only because she's been with that team for multiple seasons, yet no longer has the skills that is required from everyone else.

Random thought: I like Teal Ladies as a team name better than ladies of teal since, as many people said, it's been used in SE's music for years. Teal Ladies is very similar but not the same. Anyways carry on

Me too! Maybe it's not too late for a name change?[emoji6] it keeps with the same "theme" so to speak, but it's more unique.

I think you're reading way too into this. she said that THIS YEAR it happens that all veterans made it. I really didn't see anything in her post stating or implying that past members automatically make the team.

as a side note- it 100% makes sense to me that most veterans would make it every year anyway.. if they were skilled enough to make it in the first place, and have managed to hang on to those skills/improve, it only makes sense that they will make it the next year to me.. I don't know of anyone on SE that can't tumble. so if most can throw minimum fulls, you need 6+ people walking in with doubles, and better stunting technique. even if, if someone who can only full is on the team, a great leader, coach knows them and their abilities, they're likely to make the team over someone who walks in with a double but not the best stunter.

does any of this make sense it made sense in my brain..

Ugh. #drama

I just wanna see their showcase. People always overthink. Just allow SE/LoT to show what they'll bring to the table.

Side note: IF AND ONLY IF they kept this from us and didn't posted any teasers, we would not be debating over this...

I think the other thing you have to consider is we don't draw from the same population numbers as teams we compete against do. Kernersville is small. 12 miles big. We had 2 exits off the highway until about a month ago and now we have 1 more. If you miss one of those 3 exits you'll miss our little town all together. We're just not drawing from a Dallas or Atlanta area. So, our philosophies have to align with the area we have to pull from. The kids nor the parents feel like any of us is irreplaceable because we are! Lol.
