The Charging Affidavit is available on the Volusia County Clerks Page. At least 2 underage athletes were present during part of the situation.

I think it's a bit of a cop out though. We already have to show birth certificate and photo. So the penalty is they just have to show a stricter form of it? If that's the case....

Birth Certificate and photo has never been verified at a competition though. Outside of worlds, I've never been asked to show that I'm the same person registered as an athlete on the team. If an EP has reason to believe an athlete isn't who they say they are, they can go back and request the birth certificate, but that's a reactive action, not a preventative one.

So the latest is that they are pulling out of the Match Play comp this weekend because their athletes can't get IDs in time.

Well I guess that rule worked then.

Why is it always new people that are the biggest gossips?
I don't think that holds true for this particular thread. Longer term posters have been more guilty of gossip and beating around the bush.
If a team has been proven guilty of cheating, I'm all for it being made public and I have no issue if a new poster is the one to do it.

I wasn't able to find this on twitter with the search terms, so I am going to remove the links. Though I am sure if someone searches hard enough they can find the emails again. -King

These were not hard to find, searched on twitter the gym name and matchplay and these came up.

So they have to give the owner their ID's until the end of the season? What about those that have a drivers license? (I realize you most likely just reposted these emails; I'm just putting the questions out there.)

This would mean handing over a FL State ID, a passport or a DoD military ID (in our case, it would be easier and cheaper to get CP one of those than a FL ID)---no way in hades. I understand complying with the sanction, but I think forcing the parents to relinquish the ID would be a deal-breaker in our house assuming I could ignore everything else that's been revealed over the past 24 hours. I don't understand why the ID needs to be kept by anyone except during the event when they'll be looked at.

Though I suppose they should be thankful that Florida's law is pretty lax on giving out State ID's. Ours start at age 5, other states have a much higher minimum (I learned that thanks to FB this week). However, if they have any Tiny's or Mini's under 5 I'm assuming it's gonna take a passport.
