Just wasn't to be for us, with a fall, an oob and a couple of scores down on quals, we just couldn't do it! So proud of the fight they put up and their performance tonight

Well, look at Worlds. Marta sat Maggie on bars to give Aly the AA shot (which she didn't make), and then put Maggie on all four in TF.I could have seen vault going either way for this. Laurie's and Gabby's vaults are very similar.

But again, the AA situation came down to bars. That's what put Gabby in over Laurie. But either way, they're both out now.

I kinda wish they'd let Madison go on one event besides bars for kicks.

Really, the only reason it was Gabby over Laurie was bars, which I would have done the same thing. It allowed Gabby to make it into bars finals. It still sucks and I hate it for Laurie though.

End of the day, no matter who competed, America was going to end up with the 3 best gymnasts at the Olympics

Aly outscored Laurie on Floor and Vault. Let's figure if Laurie had competed AA her bar score would have been around 14.8 (roughly the average of her two bars from trials Trials)

So basically Laurie would have been 3rd or Gabby would have been 3rd.

We could have sat Madison out and gone 1-4

I'm not saying they aren't good[emoji19] I'm just saying every girl we have to offer including 2 of our 3 alternates are better than most of the folks that qualified.

I really wanted Laurie to perform last on floor just because I love the sassy choreography and it wouldn't hurt to have that bit of spice right before they get that gold

I am relieved that Gabby isn't on beam. I know she did well yesterday but she can be inconsistent on that event. As for Laurie, Marta did what she saw was fit when it came to putting in Gabby for the all around instead.
