That basically just leaves Mikulak left still going from the 2012 USA MAG team.

After keeping so quiet since his knee injury during the Winter Cup, I kinda figured Dalton was going to retire soon... if that wasn't big enough of a clue, then him moving to Nevada with his wife (away from the OTC) should've been enough of a clue for people.

To last two Olympic cycles is tough and an achievement in itself. Sometimes you just know when you're ready to retire.

I've already prepared myself for more retirement announcements... it stings a little more knowing the ones around my age are close to retiring, the ones I basically grew up "with". It's also made me realise I'm at "that age" where I have to make big decisions on my own as we move forward in time.

Has Danell pretty much stopped training? I haven't kept up with him much since last year. Hopefully the new group is ready to step up and Sam will be able to lead the way.

Yes, Rio was it for him. I believe he wants to pursue a career in... acting? At least I remember reading that somewhere, can't confirm it though.

I just want Sam to reproduce the same quality of gymnastics at an international event that he delivers on U.S. soil... he's like the Blaine Wilson of this generation.

That kills me. I was on TimeHop today rereading all my frustrated tweets at Sam. He can sometimes pull it together towards the end of international meets (like, the last 2 rotations), but by then it's too late.

And keeping with the trend, Chris Brooks officially retired today.

But, P&Gs start tomorrow!

I don't dislike the routine but the tempo changes in the music don't flow. You have to admit though... this is MUCH better than the last one.

Yes that's what I meant! I don't think I phrased my comment right. I like the routine but yes, like you said, the tempo changes don't flow. I agree it's better than the last one, (slightly) more mature.

two of my pet peeves: remixes and iffy leaps. Is she really throwing a Patterson for the final though?
