Orlando is baseball teams. We have Angels, Tigers, Yankees, Pirates, White Sox, Giants, Rascals, Jays and Cards.

The only name I don't get is Loony Dolphins. Haha its cute but I just don't understand! And the Cheer Extreme names like there's one called Dragonflys and another called Sharks and then you have CEA teams with Elite and Excel in their names; how does that tie together exactly?

Back in the day, some of those terms described levels... I think it was:

Level 1- Basic/Novice
Level 2- ?
Level 3- Intermediate
Level 4- Excel
Level 5- Elite/Advanced

I've always wondered Top Gun... Why Jags?

JAGUARS... but there used to be a Top Gun that was black and red from tennessee I think... "TOP GUN" is/was the term used at NCA camp for all the "BEST"awards... Top Gun Stunts, Top Gun Jumps, etc. I am assuming that's how the name was derived

When my daughter started cheer 8 years ago, there were only 3 levels...Novice, Intermediate, Advanced.... Excel was then added...the age grid was also done by school grade....seems so long ago.

MX ...Twilight, Vortex, Starstruck, Energy, Solar Flare, Armageddon, Future, Infinity, Phoenix, Intensity, Impact, Eclipse... :D

It was actually:
Level 1 = Basix (the X was important at cheersport
Level 2 = Novice
Level 3 = Intermediate
Level 4 = Excel
Level 4.2 = Silly ( not an official division back "in the day")
Level 5 = Advanced
Level 6 = Elite ( this is where the ok level 5 teams competed so they would not have to compete against the really good advanced teams)

I know Jags is for Jaguars... I was wondering why Top Gun chose Jaguars as a team name

Back in the day there were no divisions, every team competed by grade levels....just split up by youth, jr, and sr all girl, sr. coed when we started. There has been a lots of changes since 1998!!!

Not trying to one up you, but, when I came into allstar (circa 1993) there was only junior and senior. Didn't matter if you were good or bad, small or large, girls or girls/boys, everybody just competed. Oh, how I miss those days!

I found two old videos of Victor and Kristen from Miami dade college and their mascots was jags and colors were black and gold
