Has anyone done Bikram yoga? Special going on right now-$40 for the first month. But I am scared!

Let me tell you a little bit about yoga... I went into a yoga class when I was getting myself back into shape after college, and I thought "hey, I'm one of the most flexible people around, this should be easy." I got even more cocky when I saw that half of my class was either old or fat. But, then it started... I could barely hold a position for 10 seconds and these old fat folks were just CHILLIN in their pose lol.... I got schooled, and I never went back hahahaha

hahaha ya that's how it was my first few times...it gets easier and it is surprising how only some of the cheer flexibleness helps. But I still have difficulties holding myself up/in certain poses. It does feel good when you're done!
i've never done it but it's supposed to be amazing. you basically sweat out all your toxins.
So I hear! It sounds great...someday soon...

i was doing yoga before i broke my hand (kinda akward to do downward facing dog with a cast..ya know?) but while i was doing it i realized it really points out the weak parts of my body. Like balancing on my left ankle wasnt happening. I got so used to taping and bracing my injuries/weaknesses up for cheer. Yoga points them out lol bigtime. But i felt like it was helping me strengthen those areas before I had to stop going.

I am sure everyone had a very hectic weekend....any updates? I didn't do any traveling so it was a bit easier for me. I worked my BUTT off yesterday and it felt so good. I can't believe it's been 3 weeks since I started my lifestyle change. I'm really proud of myself :) and I owe some of it to you guys for keeping me motivated

SUPER FAIL this weekend.... although I only cheated on my diet twice while down at Cheersport, I didn't get to the gym AT ALL.... booooo

Don't be too hard on yourself...just keep going. (I know I have a major hangup about messing up. I "punish" myself by gaining weight back...insane, I know.) Anyway, the mussels you said you ate will help with the sugar in the bread. They are filled with protein, which will make food go through your system slower...you know the slower, the better. Anyway...try to have less bread, and when you do indulge, eat the kind that looks sorta like particle board. The fiber is good for you! Hang in there and keep on keepin on. By the way, I'm one of those old, fat yoga people! LOLOLOL!

This thread has been way too quiet... how are you all doing? I lost 5 pounds this week, but not in a good way. I've been really stressed about something for the last few weeks, and it's effecting my eating and sleeping. I have no appetite, and I've been sick for almost 2 weeks. All I wanna do is lay in bed all day. I mean, I'll take the weight loss any way I can get it lol... I just wish I wasn't miserable all day and night:-/

Someone slap some sense into me...

That sounds violent... May I offer a hug and a "Everything will work out"? :)

I'm not trying to get back into cheer like you but I'm trying to get back in shape. I started dieting right around the same time you did (and exercising) and I already lost 8 or 9 pounds. Just...melted off. I still want to lose more, but I'm definitely thinking these next few pounds aren't going to come off nearly as easily! We should start a "Diet Diaries" in Random for all of us tryin' to look good for beach season.

Also while we're on the topic of dieting...I discovered THE most delicious dessert this week. Take a sugar free chocolate pudding cup (get JellO brand pudding, it's SO much better than SnackPack), 2 tbsp of Cool Whip "Free" and like 5 mini pretzels. Break up the pretzels and put them in the pudding and then plop your cool whip on top. It's 100 cals (or 200 if you decide to use a 100 calorie pack of chocolate covered pretzels) and it's SO delicious. mmm...

well, i ran 3.2 miles in 25 minutes yesterday- a 7.8 minute mile average. i'm okay with it, but i definitely want to get faster. and, my old jeans fit again! yay!

however, my eating has gotten really messed up. i'm a habitual eater, so i basically eat the same things everyday, or the same variety of things. and it's gotten so strict now that i can't even convince myself to eat a darn piece of bread without feeling guilty for the next few days. oh well, i'm working on it.
