Ok I've just noticed this. I've seen bhs bust, tucks, fulls, and double fulls, but I have not ever seen some one bust a layout seriously.....
Any thoughts?????

I've seen them and from what one of your coaches at GA Heat told me one of the girls on Sr 4 busted her layout at Jam Live.

I've busted layouts a couple times back in the day. I used to get too much power in them and the extra height I guess freaked me out and I went basically limp in the air and came down full body weight on my neck. Pretty embarrassing...especially when you look up and everyone's hands are cupped on their mouths and they're waiting to see if I'm crying to decide when they should bust out laughing...ruuude. lol

On the competition floor I watched a girl hyper extend her knee doing a round off BHS layout :/ She finished the routine, limping to all of her spots.

Another reason why safety rolls should be taught. Everyone should know how to fall. Chin in and arms out would have prevented this.

I agree with the previous point that cheer is lacking a true "layout" position for the most part. most people set back like a handspring and then whip their feet around, almost as if they are doing a pike, which is also a poorly executed pike, yet in the sport of cheer it's counted as a layout.
also, if someone is going to bail from a layout, they will usually either tuck, and get around, at least to their knees, or pike the way most cheerleaders do it for their "properly executed" layouts

judges dont consider them "properly executed." A girl on our team always pikes out and at every single competition judges write on the score sheet "keep hollow possition" or "dont pike in layout". Dont think this doesn't go un-noticed.
