All of the competitions that our level 5 team has went to were ones that were on our original schedule and competitions that all of our travel teams went to. We didn’t add any to try to chase a bid. Every coach in our gym decided on these competitions. Not just because of the worlds bids but because they were competitions that we normally go to, or proximity, or just competitions that we liked to attend. I think thats a normal number of bid competitions for most teams. And also they got a bid at the first competition they went to and if they didn’t have one they would have gotten one at every bid competition they went to. They’ve been sooo close to getting a paid bid a lot this year. Hopefully they can come out of this weekend with a partial!

oh no, i wasn't hinting at bid chasing. i was actually curious about the cost effectiveness of it... because i know programs with multiple worlds teams do about 3-4 bid nationals and expect to pick up paids for all of the teams. they generally keep the number of bid competitions low to save on comp fees in the event that teams must pay to go on an at-large.

it has been a long season, i hope you guys finally secure the money this weekend.

6 nationals/bid competitions is A LOT for one level 5 team regardless of proximity. are international teams eligible for partial paid bids?

We only have 10 comps all year,we even had to replace one that was cancelled...we would rather go to big nationals and compete against many teams and it just so happens that these comps are usually offering bids, our gym has been going to most of these competitions for years. The only one that usually changes is our big travel comp....we have changed that between Jamfest Indy, Cheersport, Myrtle Beach and one in Florida, Ameican I think.

Spirit AS IOC5 isn't on the schedule?
Feel free to add/change if I missed anything/messed up.[/quote]

They are going but have to compete 2 times on Sunday due to a conflict.

Wow, didn't even realize the schedule was 8 pages. And completely forgot it was a 2 day... That's spring break for ya haha

I also noticed CNY Small Ltd Coed is competing twice on Sunday also...there is a HS nationals in RI that weekend and Im sure the schedule is conflicting with this comp.

New Englands for HS teams is Saturday so I'm assuming that's why Spirit IO5 and CNY Small Limited are only on Sunday. Also, I'd think that's why quite a few teams aren't even attending in general.

Anyone know how things are going at this comp? I'm looking for updates on the Pro teams, specifically. Hoping to go watch tomorrow!
