OK...so I'm still shocked at the prices here then. :D Seems like there are a lot of gyms around the country that are able to charge half what we are being charged. And we get 4 hours practice and 1 tumbling class as well. <sigh> Not much I can do unless I want to move I guess. Or change gyms again...and drive even further than I'm already driving...:(

PCM gives sibling & military discount. We have a large military population in San diego, Orange county plus our Owner is in the Navy.

Hmm...that's interesting. When we lived in Va. Beach (which is basically the same as Norfolk, so veeerrrryyy large military population) I don't think they gave military discount. That's nice that you guys are able to do that--I'd love to see more gyms offer that!

We charge level 2 and 3 $105 a month and level 4 and 5 $115 a month.
This includes two -2 hour practices- and one hour of tumbling

We do not give a discount on the second child...but the third child is FREE !
We have a 10,000 sq ft facility and 10 coaches on staff

i guess another thing you want to consider is the payment method. i started out at a gym that charged $150/month may-april just in tuition, and then my mom had to pay throughout the year for comp fees, choreography, uniform, etc. we then switched to a program that charged $275/month (june-february), but it included everything tuition, camp, comp fees, hotels, uniforms, music, choreo. she actually preferred the 2nd method out of convenience and felt she got more out of it.

It really depends on what's included. I know a lot of programs have the "all-inclusive" price (as fabulousity noted) where it's not just tuition but travel, comp fees and uniforms. Those can be up to $250-300 per month or more. If it's just base tuition - which is usually practices plus tumbling - then it can be anywhere from $75 to $150 per month depending on the level. And then either you're billed separately for the other items (like uniforms and warmups) or have to pay for them yourself. (like travel)

If I split out our monthly tuition, then prorated travel and uniforms over 10 months, then I'd probably be looking at $275/month.

I know many of the programs in the Chicago area roll everything into one package including uniform, practice wear, tuition, comp fees, music, etc. rather than nickel and diming everyone. I think UA is approximately $300 a month but that includes everything and they don't hit you up for too much other stuff unless it's a team decision such as team shirts or something like that.

But if you look at it, if you add $800 in competition fees, $300 for uniform, $300 for camp, choreography, and music, you're adding an additionaly $140 a month over the 10 month season instead of fronting all the money at the beginning of the season. I think this type of program is more convenient because it allows families to budget throughout the season.

Ours is $225 for JUST tuition (2 practices/week + one 1-hour tumbling class). We have to pay comp fees, choreography, registration, uniforms, etc. on top of that. I was used to $140 (I think, I know it was something close to that--maybe $120?) plus all the extras. We really love our new gym so I imagine we'll just suck it up and pay it--I mean I'd rather pay a little extra for a place we absolutely love going to than save a little and have a miserable year wishing we'd just gone with this place. But my gosh, no wonder people think we're crazy!!! I think I might have to move back to the south. :p

I wish they'd roll it all into one payment and include everything so I could budget for the whole year.

WOW on that tuition price. WOW. I guess I'm glad I'm in the South!

Holy moly!!! Is your facility large? Not even in the expensive satate of California do they charge that much for just tuition. Dont think we would have very many kids at that price. We also have a lot of families with 3 kids in the program can you imagine that price times 3 a month. Our gym does an all inclusive monthly price which makes it easier to budget and you know ahead of time what you are paying and when.

Ah, you guys are making me feel much better! I thought that I was crazy when all the moms there were looking at me like "Yes? And...?" when I said I was floored by the price. We might have to call around for next season. And no, it's not large. At all. My girls do love it there, but they might have to just love it somewhere else.

Twist & Shout is $220 per SESSION which is 8 weeks long. So approximately $110 a month. There's a $50 per session discount for additional children. That is for one 2-hour practice per week and one 1-hour tumbling class per week during the summer. Then additional practices (1-2 more per week) are added from August-March for no additional cost.

$225 bucks a month....no offense, but for that price my kids better be practicing 20 hours a week!!! lol

One thing that our gym does is Payment Coupons.
It is just like a payment book for your mortgage or car loan.

There are 11 coupons for the 11 months of cheer.
Given out at the parent meeting.
The first coupon will say June-$260 (tuition $115- registration $75- practice wear $70)
We try to never go over $270 on any given month and always include in ( ) what the family is paying for.

They really love Feb, March and April because all of the comp fees, choreography, uniforms and everything else is paid for and it's just straight tuition. It is also nice for our "desk diva" because each family only makes one payemnt...and it's less book-keeping.

Our tuition is very cheap, but we are in a small town and people cannot afford $120+ for tuition. Because of this, we have tons of people that use fundraising to pay for uniforms/competitions/camp. Legally, tuition cannot be paid through the Booster Club. Do gyms that include all the fees in monthly tuition not offer fundraising? Or how does this work?
