At GLCC they had 2 full paid and 6 at large bids to hand out

The ICE squad that had the highest score in the competition was an Open 5 squad. They looked amazing!

three boys and one girl currently on ice lightning that used to be on hollywood allstars will not be released by their old coach which means they cannot compete with ice lightning at worlds when they helped earn their paid bid! please join the group to show support!

Oh... What happened to this oh supportive "make people aware of the issue group" that was up? Its no longer there. Must have been TOO CLASSY to stay up!

@P2169, I completely agree with you 100%. I wasn't going to comment on these posts at all but this is getting out of hand. All the Hollywood athletes KNEW they couldn't compete at Worlds and they were fine with it. I have talked with one of the boys a while ago now and he knew he was being used and was fine with it. But then they all go on this facebook group and complain about it on how their rights are taken away? It's not like Darlene didn't tell them they won't be competing at Worlds and just surprised them with it right now. Patrick has his reasons for I know his intentions. I know it may seem unfair, but until everyone knows whats really going on, people will keep bashing Patrick. That whole group is uncalled for. I understand putting out awareness of the issue, but this group turned into a venting page.

A rule is a rule. There is no bending it, no going around it. They weren't released, they can't compete. Have to believe Darlene was hoping things would work out and they didn't. It's unfortunate to the rest of Lightning to possibly not be able to take advantage of that paid bid because the program director didn't follow proper protocol. I don't think those athletes should even be able to practice without the release. There is really nothing unfair here just unfortunate.

AGREED! There are 2 sides to every story. Don't bash Hollywood until you know the WHOLE story. And we will probably never know exactly what happened...I feel the Facebook page is terribly irresponsible and unflattering to the 4 kids involved and should be dissolved immediately before more people lose face.

I agree with this. I think that if this rule is going to be put in place then athletes should not even be allowed to practice or even compete with a team in order to win a bid that way situations like this, where they were on the team when the bid was won, will not happen. There needs to either be no release needed or a full release, none of this partial crap.

Agreed. Why is it fair that ICE got to use 4 talented kids (all with doubles and I beleive standing fulls) that A) werent released and B) Helped them get a paid bid but cant compete at Worlds. If I was Cheersport, I would not be happy that a team got a bid with some many unreleased athletes. Thats THREE OUT OF FOUR BOYS on a Small Limited Team That arent released... I actually heard the Fourth boy on the team wasnt released either.... Thats crazy!

Here are a few videos of Black Ice for those that didn't get to see them.(A few pages back someone asked for videos but I didn't feel like going back to quote them). The first video is of them being a hot mess at Cheersport in Indy(haha) I had Dartfish take down the video because it was that bad. I think a few other teams know what its like to get music the week of competition and pray the kids know it well enough by competition! We have a good laugh about it NOW, but not at the time.

Well Keith also left our gym in a respectable manner, and kept a friendly relationship with us. When Darlene called to get a release form, I was happy to do so... Keith didnt make a facebook group when he left my gym bashing us!
