I don't even understand the question?

I'm my cp's team biggest fan! I'm the loudest by far! I'm always talking about the gym or competitions or practice or something! Although my daughter is 6 she loves the attention I show. Im not sure if this is referring to people like me.. Or if your referring to something else! I love to see the parents support their CP!

Nothing wrong with any of that. I think the original poster was talking about the nutsy parents who drive everyone up a wall ;) You know, the ones that are living through their child and make everyone around them miserable.

I understand that parents like to be involved in our sport, but sometimes I feel like they just do too much and take some of the fun out of it, does anyone else think so too?

It's all sports, not just cheer. I only have 1 daughter who is 8, but I have 3 sons ages 18, 17, and 9. So between baseball, soccer, football, ice hockey, and lacrosse... I have found the "over-the-top parents" in all the sports. LoL.

Any sport? Try parents in GENERAL..I keep hearing stories about 'helicopter parents' and how some colleges had to TRICK the parents into leaving Orientation, otherwise they would be stuck to the kids like glue.

True. At my college orientation they put all the parents in an auditorium and literally told them to cut the cord and they'd hear from us again when we called. The couldn't find us for hours.

I think my mom died laughing.

I don't think my mom sucks the fun out of cheerleading for my sister. Shes just there to call BS when she sees it and speak up when the girls/other parents are too afraid... basically what a mom should do. But as far as pushing her to get a new skill...never. Sitting in a practices...no she has a life. Complaining about her kid not being in the front for everything, naw... She was the same way for me. I also think shes more lax about all star rather than my sisters high school team for good and obvious reasons....

She'd also never come on this board.

Ugh, definitely! There's one mom who was on my team last year (thank goodness she switched teams this year!!) and she caused so much drama, she was actually the running joke between about 50% of the kids AND parents on the team!! It was terrible. Also, I can't stand those parents who go to absolute extremes at competitions. Like one mom was walking around with a bow in her hair... she looked a little ridiculous

spoke to a friend, whom I met through hockey, tonight about cheerleading and his commetns had nothing to do with cost or uniforms but rather about how far we travel and how long stay at an event for a 2:30 routine.

As with anything....there are a few bad apples who can make ya coo coo.....but I sure love the "normal" ones who can laugh and have fun in all the insanity....:)
