So I think Jamfest chickened out after they posted it. Personal I dont like it. There are all ready a ton of rumors about Jams breaking off and creating a new usasf and now they add this. It all seems pretty shady to me and not what this indrusty needs by any means

Again, in our communications, nothing was ever stated that this was some kind of "Worlds" replacement.

Like CheerSport and many other event producers, Jam Brands have been pretty aggressive in trying to innovate / spice up / improve the competition experience. ("Jam Live", etc). This strikes me as just another step in that direction. Aside from the venue and the staging, the only real structural difference from a "normal" event is that they are only inviting specific teams from the modern divisions that are closest to the "original" 2 all star divisions. (All-Girl and Coed) I don't think that it is fair to say they are trying to replace Worlds just based on how they are setting this up.

I do understand that you have to be very careful when you limit invitations like they have. Many people talk about wanting more events to be selective and exclusive, but it is difficult to pull that off without offending those that weren't invited this year. I assume that is why they are being careful with how they present their information. (In fairness, I can't swear that we wouldn't be offended if the situation were reversed.)

All of that being said, I think it has the potential to be a great event for both athletes and fans. I generally like when companies take a bit of a risk, think "outside the box", and try something innovative to see if it will work. I would encourage people to try not to read too much into this and just enjoy what will hopefully be a great new competition.

I agree with Jody's post completely. I will add that the selection process was based on World's rankings from the last few seasons. We are honored and excited about the opportunity and see the innovation as a promising step in the right direction for many facets of the industry.

WCSS probably declined because WC isn't going to Jamfest at all this year. I think it's Vegas or Palm Springs instead?
Also if this is a step towards replacing Worlds, I know their coaches are pretty 'in' on the USASF so it's also kind of a loyalty thing? Just a complete guess though..

The rumor is that you do not have to pay for this competition? True or false?

It seems interesting. I don't necessarily believe that it's NOT Jamfest's attempt to have another Worlds-like event, but I like the idea of innovation and change.

My only problem is that it will end up offending many people who field teams in these two divisions who were not invited. My other problem is that many of these same teams will be PAYING to go to Jamfest Supernats and then expected to watch the teams who WERE invited to the Majors and supposedly for free (the free part is just a rumor?)

My understanding teams do not pay competition entry fee but teams will have to pay travel expenses. Will they charge an entry fee for spectators?

So will these teams still be competing for World's Bids at Jamfest Supernationals or is competition completely separate from the rest?

This is interesting for those teams. I assume if they are all making the journey, that they would also compete in the regular competition. Which would mean less bids for the other teams that would normally get them
