So I think Jamfest chickened out after they posted it. Personal I dont like it. There are all ready a ton of rumors about Jams breaking off and creating a new usasf and now they add this. It all seems pretty shady to me and not what this indrusty needs by any means
Again, in our communications, nothing was ever stated that this was some kind of "Worlds" replacement.
Like CheerSport and many other event producers, Jam Brands have been pretty aggressive in trying to innovate / spice up / improve the competition experience. ("Jam Live", etc). This strikes me as just another step in that direction. Aside from the venue and the staging, the only real structural difference from a "normal" event is that they are only inviting specific teams from the modern divisions that are closest to the "original" 2 all star divisions. (All-Girl and Coed) I don't think that it is fair to say they are trying to replace Worlds just based on how they are setting this up.
I do understand that you have to be very careful when you limit invitations like they have. Many people talk about wanting more events to be selective and exclusive, but it is difficult to pull that off without offending those that weren't invited this year. I assume that is why they are being careful with how they present their information. (In fairness, I can't swear that we wouldn't be offended if the situation were reversed.)
All of that being said, I think it has the potential to be a great event for both athletes and fans. I generally like when companies take a bit of a risk, think "outside the box", and try something innovative to see if it will work. I would encourage people to try not to read too much into this and just enjoy what will hopefully be a great new competition.
