I really don't think this age factor should impact that many US teams. The 3 IOC5 teams that have been in the top the past 3-4 years don't even have kids that young on the team anyway (from the looks of it at least).

It is going to matter to those small teams who have the 1-2 girls that may fit the adjusted bracket with a full or double.

I was going to say..I get that this 'could' affect some US teams, but not many. Just like how I wonder if being able to 'add' boys will affect some others. How many are ACTUALLY maxed out in boys (this was just for IOC6, right? I can't remember if it was IOC5+6 or just 6).

Just IOC6.
This will impact the big teams that have the extra boys as Alternates. I see it benefiting Top Gun, Gym Tyme, possibly CA.

And I don't see this being an issue for any of those teams. What they could do is have 3 girls from IO5, IOC5, or IO6 cross over for the bid. Once they get their bid, they can put 3 extra guys on the team. And those 3 girls won't be sad when they aren't on the team.

im pleased. leaving for disney on wednesday= more homework :/ & correct me if im wrong isnt that the same week as the TAKS testing for all Texas students -_____-
Yes, it's always the week of Taks. I like the competing only once a day, instead of twice on Sat. BUT I'm kind of worrying about the whole flying out on Thursday thing since my daughter is in college. That means she will miss Thurs classes as well as Friday and maybe Monday as well. All this a week before finals. I wish Worlds could be moved to a more convenient time. College kids can't miss finals prep and high school kids are required to take Taks. UGH

Exactly..I'd wager those are the ONLY teams who are maxed on boys (or who ever would be maxed on boys). Most other teams don't have enough for it to be a problem. Besides Bangkok, but that's why we have this rule now!

It would have to be moved earlier, which would cause issues for teams and other companies. They couldn't move it later because then High School kids would have conflicts, and most high schools don't let you reschedule your tests. I never had a professor in college that wouldn't let me reschedule things.

Plus college kids graduate in the beginning of may. I'd skip worlds to be able to walk in my college graduation.

I'm soo confused! So if you go to Worlds you have to replace x number of girls? and the ages changed? sorry if its already been answered I just didnt see it or did but don't understand it

You won't have to switch. The US grid is more restrictive currently. Every team under the US grid would qualify on the International one.

You don't have to switch, no. But when it comes to pyramids, baskets, and stunts you would be much smarter to remove 3 girls and add 3 boys.

The age-limit for all girl/coed premier at ICU is different from int all girl/coed level 6 at IASF. That can be problematic for those who do both.

(You did not talk about this already, right? Haha otherwise shame on me.)

For ICU 18 is the minumum right?

I hope they are thinking of fixing IOC5 as well. We are aware that international teams go to the ICU and face the same boy changing that level 6 does? So basically IOC5 needs to allow 15 boys at worlds.

Its very true. If the rationale for changed IOC6 to 15 boys is to allow international/national teams competing at ICU that weekend a chance to compete without changing , they need to do it for the IOC5 division. "Elite" or Level 5 at ICU is actually the larger of the divisions and most teams compete with more males. I've coached Team Canada Coed for 3 years and we've competed with 14 and 16 guys the past two years in Elite, most of our major competition has done the same (Chile, Costa Rica etc) and we've managed. The ICU event has run for 3 years, and teams have been able to safely make the change(with the exception of Bangkok).

I actually don't think that they should be changing the number of males allowed on a team mid-season and should leave it at 12 for levels 5 and 6 this season. . Changing the makeup of the all stars to allow for 10-15 other countries' teams is (IMO) ridiculous. We've done choreo, we've all chosen our teams and the idea that we will get a bid with one team and then have to say goodbye to 3 girls and add 3 guys for worlds makes me very upset.

Lets not even start on scoresheets in November.
